Great place. Perfect location, it's a nice walk to city center. Rooms are beautiful and confortable. The hotel is very well maintained for a heritage property. Pool area is very pleasant. Breakfast is good (only the toested bread is very cheap quality). We had very nice dinner with local specialities. I recommend.

Sahil, Tanushree and Amber helped us organise and host a surprise anniversary lunch for our parent's 50th. The private party room, decoration, goid and hosting were all top class. The ease of booking and organising took the stress off us and allowed us to enjoy the moment to the full.

Oberoi Cecil is a historical gem located in the heart of old Shimla. We experienced the town as it must have been back in the day—walking everywhere, from the Viceroy Lodge to the Kali Bari Temple and Christ Church on the Ridge. The hotel perfectly blends the charm of a bygone era with modern comforts. The ambience and staff are exceptional. I especially appreciated the restaurant service and the wide range of food—local delicacies were a highlight. Chef Bhatia personally checked in on us, and Sahil and Yatin made us feel truly at home. The concierge staff also organized a fabulous trek up to Tara Devi through the cedar forests of Tara Parvat. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.

Smiling staff saying Yes sir. Room was impeccably maintained. Friendly chauffeurs Mukesh and Rahul catered to our needs and made us feel at home. Chef Rajkumar delighted us with personalised taste with signature dishes like poori bhaji, bread pakoda and chole bhature. Dilraj made our breakfast experience truly luxurious. Property layout took us back in time and it is well weaved with modern luxury. If someone misses the Swimming pool they have missed the cherry of the cake. My Stained shirt was cleaned to original whiteness. I was so happy to skip my wife’s wrath. My memories with school friends have been itched with gold by Oberoi Cecil. ❤️

From the moment we arrived at this beautifully presented hotel, to the time of our reluctant departure, we enjoyed the most superb service, delicious food and great comfort in our luxurious room. The staff were charming, friendly, helpful and professional, and the ‘centralised, end of visit’ tipping system clearly reflected their team spirit. I also note with interest the manager’s repeated recognition, in other reviews, of his staff; it’s great to see how they are valued.

We recently stayed at this hotel for our friends reunion, and the experience was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and service were exceptional. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained. Every detail—from the cozy beds to the well-appointed amenities—added to our comfort. A special shoutout to the cook and the kitchen team—the food was absolutely delicious! Each meal felt like it was prepared with love and care, and it truly added a homely touch to our stay. From hearty breakfasts to flavourful dinners, every dish was a delight and became a highlight of our time together. Thanks to the entire team for helping us create such beautiful memories. The hotel provided the perfect setting for laughter, late-night chats, and reconnecting with old friends. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly recommended for group stays or special gatherings. Looking forward to coming back!

The hotel was awesome as expected from Oberoi. Hotel is a 150 years old property. Our suite was marvellous. Giving a stunning valley view. Swimming pool was something every one should visit. All wooden interiors was giving a colonial feeling which took me into past history.

A lovely proprty with an excellent location. The old world charm of this hotel ***** with the warm hospitality of the staff takes you into another world. The Valley view rooms give you an excellent view of the valley and the early morning sunrise with the snow-capped mountains in the distance..
