It was a wonderful hotel.
Not only the rooms, but also the spa and dining area. I regret that we couldn't explore everything because it was raining.
The only thing that was disappointing was that there was no staff there to wait for the spa return card or to greet other customers who had come to the spa, but even during those times it was a space where we could spend without feeling irritated.
There were no other issues that were of particular concern.
The spa is also by reservation only, so there were not many people and we were able to relax.
Above all, the room was simply wonderful and the breakfast was even more delicious than I expected, with carefully selected ingredients and seasonings that made the most of the ingredients. The view from the dining area was also amazing, and above all, we could hear the birds chirping and enjoy a wonderful breakfast.
Springing out of the beautiful Ago-Wan Bay peninsula is Shima Kanko Hotel the Bay Suites, a restful Japanese retreat where a sense of peace washes over you from the moment you enter. Grab-your-camera views are in almost every direction, especially at dusk when the hotel offers one of the best vantage points for the sunset. Take it all in from your spacious suite, a masterpiece in modern minimalism. Or watch over the water at dinner. Both Le Mer, the French-inspired restaurant and Hamayu that presents kaiseki-ryori - the Japanese tasting menu, pair memorable food with unforgettable views. They stream into Eau Spa as well- where treatments make use of the energising power of water. Shima Kanko is the proud host of the first Clarins spa in Japan, and guests can expect signature Clarins scents and plant-powered formulas. Rest and rejuvenate in the dry sauna and tepidarium, or step out into the fresh air and outdoor pool. For those with energy to burn, the hotel puts you close to Shima Nature Reserve where kayaks, boats and water balls skim the Bay. There are beaches nearby, as well as landmarks such as Daiozaki Lighthouse and nearby Yokoyama Observatory - for soaking up the setting from dry land. There were so many people that I didn't take the elevator for almost three days. Every time I took the elevator, it was crowded and the elevator came very slowly. Even on the last day, I was sick and had to climb the stairs. It was a bad feeling.
Although the buffet food was barely okay, there were so many people that sometimes the food was gone when it was my turn.

The hotel is clean and the service is polite. The breakfast is delicious, using local ingredients. The hot spring water is from the source, and the pearl hot spring water. The drinks after the bath and the coffee in the lounge are delicious. The grounds are spacious and there are plenty of activities to enjoy. The free tour to watch the sunset and the stargazing where you can hear explanations about the stars while holding a laser up to the stars were great. You can see Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and the Pleiades star cluster with the naked eye. I would like to go back in the warmer months. The hotel was quite warm and comfortable even in winter.

In the hotel in the tourist area, the facilities are a bit old, but fortunately it is clean, the door is opened with a key, very nostalgic. The bath is a natural spring. When it arrives late, there are no people. The experience is good.

Overall it is a good resort hotel.
There are no restaurants nearby, so we recommend that you plan breakfast and dinner.
Pick up and drop off at Kenjima Station (reservation required)
You can see Eiyu Bay in front of the room.
The room is a bit old, but you can relax.
There is only one indoor bath in the hot spring. There is also a sauna, but it is very small.

I have two feelings about this stay.
1. The photo posted by this website was a lie - the room was very different to the reality. For a start there was no in room onsen and that had been a major factor in me making this booking. I was really disappointed on arrival.
2. However it has to be said the staff are fabulous, the food excellent and everything about the place shows a tremendous attention to detail. After a lovely long soak in the Onsen available to guests and a fabulous dinner my mood was quite recovered. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for someone looking for a luxurious retreat and plan to return myself.

LLCLOThe hotel is on the island of Dokano, drive to the dock parking lot, and then carry luggage on the boat. It is inconvenient to encounter heavy rain when you check in, but the hotel hot springs and food quality are not wrong.
GGuest UserThe check-in was at night, so the road just in front of the hotel was a little scary, but it was a road that was not scary at all when I went to the bright time the next morning.
It was easy to go because the public bath was right after getting off the elevator.
This time I stayed without meals, but next time I wanted to stay with meals.
老老司机赵师傅The most satisfactory hotel in this trip is also the most cost-effective hotel! The location of the hotel is just a few minutes walk along the beach after exiting Kintetsu Kenjima Station, but you need to go uphill (the lobby of the hotel is on the second floor). Friends with a lot of luggage can ask the hotel to pick you up by car. Surprisingly, the hotel actually gave me, a single traveler, a Japanese-style suite! Including a living room and a bedroom, there is a dry landscape in the house! I ordered breakfast and dinner at the front desk. Dinner is 4,500 yen, and breakfast is 1,800 yen. They are all banquet dishes! The only problem is that the breakfasts for both days are the same, and I was charged an extra for a bottle of beer because I rushed away in the morning and didn't find it. This is a pity!
