Vivanta Shillong, was centrally located and well maintained property. The external beauty was mediocre and so is the plan of each room with oddly shaped floor space. Just ignore these, the stay was full of warmth which Taj has patent so well in the last few years. The staff took care to beautify the room on the occasion of birth day of my life partner during the stay. We felt a bit abashed, with the overwhelming care shown by the Chef Hazarika and Fredrick, the officer in charge at the Mynt - dining facility. Both ensured that our fascination for local fare is well addressed with details and improvising the same to suit our tastebuds. Guys, you made our stay to linger for time to come. Our trips to local tourist spots was marred with bad roads, bad upkeep and above all little interest shown to attract tourists - be it Dawki river or Elephant falls or the clean village at Mawlynnong!! If we enjoyed our 4 day Meghalaya trip, it is only the time spent within the portals of Vivanta!!

Chandan, Natasha, Kumar, Manlih and the whole entire staff team were out of this world…no words are enough to say how great the staff and hotel was. I honestly felt that the level of service and hotel was much higher than a ‘Courtyard’ brand. Food was really good too. The hotel should be a famous hotel in the local area! However, it is incomparable with the domestic 4 star hotel. The first hotel is relatively old, and the second hotel's supplies are relatively inferior. Only the staff are still pretty good, attitude is good, only live for one day, so in addition to feeling expensive, feeling worthwhile, the mood is not too bad! One night of transition, nothing to worry about!

A perfect place to stay with friends/family/couples. The property has 3 wings- heritage, forest and valley wing. We stayed in the valley wing. The rooms were small but cozy with a touch of royalty. The view of the city is amazing, especially at night, when city is all lit up. Some rooms have a balcony with is spacious and beautiful. The entire property is well maintained. It definitely provides you a feel of the historic past it beholds. They have designated breakfast and dinner areas in the different wings making sure that guests don't miss out on the heritage and royalty. Orchids and pine trees enhance its beauty. The significance of the horse shoe shaped entrance, the historic importance of different blocks, old photographs take you down the memory lane. The hospitality and food are good. Staff is very courteous. Ambience is great.It lives upto its name.

Beautiful Hotel in mid of main center point of Shillong. Staff were so helpful and professional. Food was amazing and mouth watering. Best in shillong. But the lady manager is very cunning. Never hire hotel cab from them. They will charge you double. Other than than everything is fine. Internet here is having an issue as it connects and again gets disconnected.

Friendly service. Best feature of the hotel was the restaurant. The food was fresh and the quality and choice of meals was excellent. Waiters were very attentive. Only thing lacking was no alcohol served at dinner. The residency is located just off one of the busy streets of Shillong which is fascinating for a tourist to wander and see how the locals live.

Absolutely worth it! We only stayed at the pear tree for one night but wish we could have stayed longer! Even with one night the owner and staff made such an impression. The room is elegant (beautifully furnished) with original hardwood floors and a proper place for your luggage. We needed to arrange a driver to go to the airport, they booked us one right away. If you are coming to Shillong, this is the place to stay. The location is great, the people are incredibly friendly, and breakfast is provided. The taxi driver didn’t know how to get to it at first but the hotel staff happily got on the phone with the driver and we had no problems getting there after that. If you need any suggestions on where to go they also have great knowledge of the area and surrounding areas. We hope to come again.

Firstly, the rooms are the same as shown in the pictures. The wooden floorings and lobby decor are lovely. The whole property consists of beautiful decor pieces,(side note- you can have Instagram-worthy pics everywhere on their property). The ambiance is calm and peaceful inside the property. The staff is also very lovely and friendly. But what I didn't like was the food was very expensive, and in the morning buffet there were not that many options which I would have preferred for the price. The services were good but you have to ping them again and again to provide the services. The exact location of this property is not pleasing but the main road and markets are nearby, so that is a good thing. The toiletries were in the bare minimum amount. Overall, for me, the experience at the price that you pay is not completely satisfactory.
