Terrible place! The advert is no where near reality. Our room was scruffy, decor looks to be from the 1990s. There was a kingsize mattress balanced in a double bed base?! No headboard, only 1 bedside cabinet. The "flat screen tv" advertised is a tiny 12 inch old tv that you cannot even see from the bed. Broken shower so you have to hold the shower head to shower whilst washing. . No breakfast provided at all. No wifi at all in the part of the building where the rooms are (we did ask). All in all a terrible place that needs a full refurb.

Ignore what is advertised in this add as there was no Wi-Fi. Decor was terrible reminded me of a motel you would see in an American horror movie. King size mattress that doesn’t even fit the bed also the bed was at an angle maybe one of the legs on the bed was broken? I didn’t have a bedside table my side which was awkward Leaning to floor for my stuff. Shower you had to hold as the holster was broken was like being jet washed in a farm. 3 stars is very generous for this place. And the price definitely don’t reflect what you get. Oh and also they said they don’t serve breakfast.

We are absolutely appalled by our experience at the Highwayman Inn. We knew this wouldn’t be a luxury stay, but we at least expected cleanliness, basic comfort, and a reasonable night’s sleep – none of which we got. The entire place was disgustingly dirty. Ripped carpets, filthy towels, and unclean bed linen made for an uncomfortable and unhygienic stay. Even the electrical appliances were out of date on their PAT testing, which is both concerning and unacceptable. To make matters worse, the noise levels were unbearable. From 6 AM on Sunday morning, children—who appeared to be linked to the pub—were running wild in the corridors, banging on our door, and shouting. Any chance of rest was completely shattered. We work damn hard for our money, and while we weren’t expecting five-star treatment, we did expect a basic level of care and decency. This place failed on every front. It was so unbearable that we left at 7 AM and drove four hours home just to get some sleep. Avoid this place at all costs.

Despite getting a booking confirmation from relaxedinns, arrived ready for our stay and trip and found the premises completely closed, nothing. No sign or notice up, no email, no reply on booking, just shut and now having to sonehow chase a refund - So poor.. Will now avoid forever

We parked our camper in the car park overnight before Glastonbury Festival for £10 which was really convenient. However, we decided to have dinner in the restaurant and OMG we never though that anyone could ruin fish and chips like they did. It was the worst example of "freezer to table" imaginable. It really was appaling, how any chef could turn out food of such poor quality amazed us. I'm sorry Highwayman, you need to pull your socks up. Oh and get a better cleaner.

Went there after visiting the Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show a few miles away. Obviously there was more custom due to the show but hardly any staff. Had to wait ages to order food and they wouldn't accept bank notes from scottish banks. Had to exchange a bank note with some one else in the queue. Service was slow but food was good.

Unfortunate second visit here. It would be great if things were made clearer by staff, rude comments don’t really help paying customers feel welcome, I know the reputation isn’t the best here but for some very hungry people we were willing to give it a go. Check reviews and everything else and make your mind up yourself.

The shower tray was dirty, the protruding mattress coils made it impossible to get comfortable enough to sleep for any more than a few minutes at a time. The charge for the room was £104 and there wasn't even a bottle of water provided. We ordered an evening meal and were told after we had paid for it and waited 10 minutes that it would take another 45 mins before it was ready. There were only 2 other couples dining!
