Shangri-La Shenzhen Hotel

The room was quite small, and the facilities were a bit old. The showerhead in the bathroom was oddly placed inside the bathtub, which itself was an old-fashioned one, probably about 25 cm high! The toilet seat was loose and hadn't been repaired. Overall, I felt it wasn't worth the price. The swimming pool is outdoors on the fifth floor. Small fruits from the trees kept falling into the water, and the lifeguard couldn't keep up with scooping them out, so they just stayed there.

The front desk staff, particularly Mr. Cheng, was incredibly helpful! He managed to find us connecting rooms and even king-sized beds for both families. Our kids had a fantastic time playing together. The coffee at the lobby bar was delicious, and it was great that we could book the pool and sauna exclusively. This was a truly delightful National Day experience.

Aside from the good location, there's nothing else positive to say. The facilities are extremely old, the bathtub looks like a fish tank, and the room door had no power. I was stuck outside for 30 minutes and was eventually offered a very cheap fruit platter as compensation.

The location is excellent, right across the road from the station via an underpass. However, it would have been perfect if someone could have offered an umbrella at the subway exit on a rainy day. The service was great; they upgraded us to a room with a fantastic view. The breakfast was plentiful, and the restaurant ambiance was good. The hygiene was clean and tidy. Didn't have time to experience the ancillary facilities.

I booked this trip for a birthday celebration, hoping for a little surprise when I made the reservation. While nothing special was arranged later, it wasn't a big deal. However, the overall stay was quite average: the soundproofing in the room was terrible. I could clearly hear the doorbell ringing several times from the room next door, which was very disruptive to my rest. Overall, it didn't meet the service standards of a five-star hotel. The pool wasn't anything special either; at best, it's just a regular hotel offering basic facilities. The upside is that the double bed was indeed very large.
