If you’re looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Shenzhen, this little B&B tucked inside “Datian Craftsman Cultural Village” is an absolute treasure. Nestled quietly in a small Hakka village,it offers the perfect balance — completely surrounded by nature yet only a short 15-minute ride from the city. The moment I arrived, I could feel the calm take over. The property sits amid majestic camphor trees, with gentle birdsong as the soundtrack of your stay. The B&B itself reflects the village’s history of woodworking — filled with beautiful natural wood furniture and artistic pottery accents. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated and effortlessly photogenic. Our room was bright, spacious, and spotless. The bedding was soft and organic, the design minimalist yet cozy. My favorite feature? The beautiful bathtub, perfect for a long soak after a busy week. I spent an entire afternoon on the balcony, reading while listening to the birds — pure bliss. The hosts also offer delightful craft workshops, and we joined a candle-making session that turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast deserves a special mention too — healthy, delicious, and filling, a perfect start to each morning. This little B&B is truly a sanctuary of peace and creativity. Whether you’re exploring the museum next door, wandering through the village, or simply lounging under the trees, you’ll find yourself completely relaxed. Working in the city can be stressful, but this retreat reminded me how good it feels to slow down. I didn’t want to leave — and I absolutely can’t wait to come back.

I stayed here with my colleage from Sweden. It was the perfect quiet place during a very hectic week visiting factories all accross the Pearl River Delta. The host was the most welcoming of people I have ever met. The moment we arrived the host asked for my wechat, and if there would be anything I would ever need, I just had to send him a message on Wechat. The breakfast every morning, arranged exactly according to our prefferences was simply delicious. It was traditional Chinese breakfast with congee, sweet potatoes, corn, steamed bread, eggs, cucumbers, soy milk. Simply a delight to wake up every morning to the breakfast. The host also showed us around the ancient town around the hotel, and at the end of our trip even dropped us off at the highspeed station. I will for sure stay in thie hotel again next year when visiting suppliers in the Pearl River Delta. Oh, and the street food around the hotel was also simply excellent, as is the food in the restaurant in the ancient town.
