We stayed one night here. Our friends had a room in the main residence, and we stayed in the Carriage House. We loved the Fletcher Room. Nice decor, very clean and simple. Thoughtful details. The hosts are more laid back than we expected, given the many rules posted on their web site. It is very impressive that they run the inn on their own and have time to visit with guests and get to know them. Breakfast was good, but quite rich. Very tasty and nice portions. You won’t go hungry. We did not spend much time in Shelburne, but did get a chance to walk around a little. Some cute shops, even though it is not as quaint as other small VT towns. But it’s proximity to Burlington is nice, and there is a lot to see & do.

What an amazing experience we had at the Heart of the Village Inn! As many have said, Anatoly and Rose are fantastic hosts...they made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Anatoly also had many helpful recommendations for local places to eat, beautiful fall foliage drives, etc. Staying at Heart of the Village Inn absolutely added to the “Vermont experience “ and we would stay here again in a second. Thank you Anatoly and Rose for a wonderful experience.

An old Victorian, restored and updated with everything you'd want or need in a luxury hotel and the solitude and privacy of small lovely town. Owners Anatoly and Rose are hospitable and generous with the service and the amazing self-styled breakfast menu. Stay here and experience the finest vermont has to offer.

My husband and I got the weekend trip to Vermont and three nights stay at this charming bed and breakfast inn as an anniversary present from our daughters. We were welcomed by Rose. She showed us around. Immediately we felt nice and relaxed. Our room was on the first floor with king size bed. I always worry about comfort of the mattress. This bed was great. The room and the whole inn were immaculate. Next morning for breakfast we met Anatoly. He was preparing our breakfast. We travel all the time, but I don't remember ever having more delicious food. Rose and Anatoly make you feel like you just visiting family. I think this is a charm of B and B. We are coming back for sure.

This was my second stay at the Heart of the Village. I was there last winter before the new innkeepers purchased the Inn. The improvements to the property and the customer experience are great. This place had "great bones" before, but Rose and Anatoly have fleshed them out. A fresh coat of ain't does wonders, but so does the thoughtful furniture placement in the lining area and dining area. New plumbing, mattresses and linens have improved the sleep experience. Grandma always said, "A place for everything and everything in its place." New luggage racks and strategic hooks for items definitely helped with that. Breakfast at the Inn was a special experience as Anatoly cooked everything to order. Eggs to order, French Toast with Vermont Maple Syrup, Crustless Quiche were a few of my choices this week. My husband enjoyed a eggs Benedict with salmon as well. And one of the best changes was the coffee. They have upgraded to a quality coffee, and it's hard to keep the pot full when my husband an I are there! All in all, the changes are solid, thoughtful improvements to the inn. Heart of the Village has won my heart.

Rose and Anatoly made me feel right at home with their warm welcoming presence and yummy breakfast in the morning. I woke up to the aromatic breeze from downstairs. Love the bed and amenities. The chocolate was exquisite and the shampoo made my hair so smooth. I'm so glad I chose this quaint place to stay for a night. It's right across from the library, in the heart of the village.

We stayed in a first floor, two bedroom suite in the carriage house which was perfect as we had my 86 year old father with us and I think the stairs might have been too much for him. Our beds felt luxurious and came with more big fluffy pillows than we could use. Be sure to look for the one of a kind chandelier in the breakfast area and in the carriage house. Breakfasts were deliciously cooked to order and always started with a pretty arrangement of fruit. Rose and Anatoly are warm and friendly and send you off with a goodbye hug.

Wonderful B&B. Clean, beautiful, and comfortable room. Very private. When we were there the outside temp was 0 degrees but warm and cozy inside! Great breakfast. Innkeepers are lovely. Location is great- close to all activities. Will stay there again and recommend highly!

Initially, I was unsure about booking this B&B as the reviews were kind of mixed. I 1. The innkeepers were very good at communicating. I received detailed directions to the inn, where/how to park, how to get I to the building, etc. Some reviewers did not like this. It was a bit much at times; however, I would rather be over communicated with than have no idea what to expect upon arrival. 2. Common areas may be under video surveillance. This did not bother me as it's no different than a hotel. Nothing was in our room. 3. There was a code to get into the building. This was the first B&B that I stayed at that had this. I actually liked this and it made me safer. 4. The innkeepers have rules. This is clearly explained when booking. It's for the safety of the innkeepers, guests and to keep the place clean. No shoes in the room - no problem with me. Shoes past the front door are disgusting in my opinion. 5. The innkeepers were very friendly. They are not native Vermonters, but that doesn't matter. They have a nice place and are very hospitable. 6. Breakfast was amazingly good! 7. The inn is in a good place - safe area, and walking distance to many things. 8. I will 100% stay here again when I visit town again! 9. Also, the room was spacious and clean.
