Our room B13 was lovely, overlooking the golf course. The apartment had everything we needed and the heaters did an amazing job. We stayed for 3 weeks and were very impressed that we had our room serviced once a week. The pool, sauna and spa were wonderful. The restaurant was lovely and the meals delicious. It is the first time we have stayed in Port Sorel and we loved it, great walking and bicycle tracks and beautiful beaches. I would definitely recommend Shearwater Resort and give it 10 out of 10.

My husband and I stayed for nearly a week and enjoyed a very pleasant experience overall. The only minor inconvenience was when the smoke alarm was triggered in the communal laundry and we didn't know who to contact. We were pleasantly surprised to find our unit had been recently renovated, making it much more comfortable compared to our previous stay a couple of years ago. Although our unit did not include a balcony or view, this did not detract from our stay — we were still able to relax and enjoy watching the rain fall from our windows. The accommodation was clean, fresh, and well maintained, and we look forward to returning for our next visit.

We have gone to Shearwater for many many years. We always look forward to a relaxing and easy week of golf, swimming in the pool and at the beach, walks, cycling, bbqs and just chilling with family and friends. A week of pure relaxation. Apartments are very comfortable

We enjoyed a lovely break away at Shearwater. Although it was a studio apartment, it was more than adequate for our needs. The balcony looked over the golf course and towards the beach. The staff were very helpful and everywhere looked clean and well maintained.

Would I stay here again. NEVER First of all we get put on the top floor right next to 6 units being renovated. We were told about the pool being renovated but not about the apartments. That was a lovely noise to listen to every single day while we were here. Hammering, drilling, grinding, tradies talking on their phones at the top of their lungs. Then the apartment. Wow. So old. So run down. Yes they are renovating them which absolutely needs to be done. BUT they should not be filling these few apartments right next to renovations going on. Now for inside Bathroom has mould on tiles. Toilet lid comes off Fan covered in dust Kitchen wasn’t cleaned properly. We complained about this 3 times. 1st time they decided to send the cleaners back to do a “deep clean” it was no different after they did this clean. 2nd time we were told if we could stay here they could send the cleaners back and we could direct them on what to clean!!!! 3rd time we ended up saying don’t bother it should have been done properly the day we checked in. We had a frying pan that we could not use because it was beyond cleaning, cleaner came and gave us a new one, looked at the other one and just says oh I don’t know why that would still be there ( really) um because no one has bothered to clean it. We told her about the cleaning issues, she could not care less. We had a toaster that was disgusting, took that to reception, gave us a new one. This was when they decided to do the deep clean. We came back after that clean to still have tongs with dried food from who knows when. Saucepan with dried on pasta. Cups with coffee stains. Glasses that were dirty. We ended up having to wash everything that we wanted to use. Something you should not have to do when you check in for a holiday, is clean before you start. The TV is so old it’s not a smart TV but they have Foxtel. It’s a joke. They have the cheapest basic channels which is nothing. News, weather and that’s about it. Every time we clicked on a movie or something worth watching, sorry you need to upgrade your subscription. So when we wanted to relax at night with a drink and watch a movie that was impossible unless we watched it on our phones!!!! Seriously I think with what they charge they can afford some movie channels on Foxtel. The master bedroom has a double bed yet the spare room has a queen bed plus bunks. The floor is heated with a locked box on the wall so all us naughty adults can’t touch it, but nothing to explain how this works. The balcony. We thought we would sit outside and enjoy a relaxing drink. Chairs and table were filthy. Again we had to clean them before we could sit out there. The iron is useless. Spat out dirty water all over my new top that I then had to wash. They charge you a fortune for membership then the vouchers. But if you need extra toilet paper, washing up liquid, soap you need to buy it from reception, every other place provides this free of charge, if you run out you just a

Lovely location and lovely outlook with peeps of the sea. Room is tired, shower over a bath which we don’t particularly enjoy. Bed is lovely and comfortable. the rooms aren’t very well soundproofed but if you use the earphones to stream then you tend not to notice that plus you get used to it. Would we come again, yes we would. We travelled extensively to the northern part of Tasmania, as far as Stanley and The Nut from here on day trips and we found the driving easy as the roads are very good and were able to do a lot of exploring. We did a lot of walking around the local area along the Esplanade at Port Sorell, Shearwater and Hawley Beach. There is an IGA, Takeaways, and a couple of coffee places within walking distance which are really nice. There is a Woolworths, doctors, chemist etc about a kilometre away. If you’re buying petrol don’t buy it and Shearwater, buy it when you’re out and about as it is a lot more expensive here than other more remote places.
