"Absolutely loved everything about this place! I stayed overnight with my friend and her family. Yuta (owner's son) and his mother went above and beyond to give us spectacular experience! Food was top quality, facility was extremely clean, Onsen water was so silky, delicious Gelato and good opportunity to try varieties of Japanese alcohol. This place made our visit to Hokkaido extra special. Thank you for taking good care of us and spending quality time with Matthew! He adores you!! ps. "今回北海道外回り1周旅行で滞在。お値段も安いので3泊予約。ここを中継基地にして知床・羅臼に翌日は阿寒湖・摩周湖巡りをしました。教員住宅をリフォームしたので当然古さはありますがそれなりに綺麗ですし台所には食器から調理器具まで完備、お風呂のシャワーの水圧も充分。トイレも洗浄機能付きです。観光ドライブ帰りには近所？の地元スーパーで海産物を翌日はジンギスカンと観光料金ではない適正な値段で買えてとても満足した食事も出来ました。豪華なホテルで美味しい食事や温泉を希望する方には向いてないと思いますが早起きすると静かで清々しい朝を散歩することもできます。朝食を取ってそれから200kmぐらいのドライブをして夕方には食材を買って帰りお風呂に入って夕飯、美味しいお酒も堪能できとても楽な旅となりました。a uの電波が入りにくいのですがブースターを貸してくれます。オーナーの方も優しくてとても良い思い出になりました。"

"It's a very big old hotel, a bit run down. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a bit far on foot from the ”center” of Utoro (convenience store). Only one elevator for the section of the hotel I was in, is insufficient. You can have toothbrushes at will, but on the other hand to wash yourself, there is only one sample of shampoo per day. In any classic hotel that respects itself, you will find containers of soap for the body, shampoo and conditioner."

"Hotel with a view. We stayed in a traditional Japanese set up room. It is v spacious and comfortable. At night it turned into a futon bed. The facilities & hot spring onsen bath is amazing."

"Perfect location. It was a 5-min walk from the bus station and less than 10 min from Roadside rest area. Room was spacious and it faced to the sea. Enjoyed the beautiful sunset from the balcony . Delicious breakfast and dinner. Food of western and Japanese style was provided. Dining area was big. Unfortunately, the staff didn't speak English. Need to spend sometime to communicate and they tried their best to give help anyway. Better to use the Google translate in this case. Check-in time was 15;00. There is no receptionist before that. For guests arrived before 15:00 can leave luggage in the hotel but guests had to bear the responsibility."

"The room is very good. It is really nice to have a five-star hotel in such an inconvenient place. I booked a one-night stay and two-night stay, but it is not very convenient on the mountain. It can only be picked up by phone at the Utoro Bus Center. Because I stayed in the Chief the night before, I had to rush to the Shiretoko Center early in the morning. I didn't want to carry my luggage. I booked a hike in the afternoon. The driver would take me to Kiki. But the luggage couldn't walk, so I wanted to go to Kiki to store my luggage first. Time was a bit tight, so the lady boss of the Chief took me up. In addition to transportation, this hotel is good, with large rooms, free hot springs, and very few people. There are free popsicles and drinks at the door, and there is a forest-themed rest area in the lobby with free coffee, chocolate cookies and cheese. As for the meals, there are many dishes, but the variety is not rich. The taste is also average, but the milk and fruit are good~"

"Business hotel next to JR. Outdoor parking lot. The day I went, the wind was very strong. There is an onsen on the 1st floor and an outdoor area with a small pool, but the wind was strong so I didn't go out."

Though labelled as a 3-star hotel, this resort is the very definition of an underrated masterpiece. From the moment we arrived, it became clear this experience would rival any five-star destination we’ve ever visited. Our room was a slice of paradise—spacious, serene, and offering a panoramic view of the breathtaking sea. Perfect for a moment of calm after a day of exploring. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the window, with its infinite horizon stretching beyond the blue waters. The bath experience was equally indulgent, with Dyson and Refa hairdryers in the public bath area. The soap and shampoo provided in the public baths? Luxurious, premium products that they also retail on-site. A small but significant touch that elevates this from your average onsen. Where do I even begin with the buffet? It was nothing short of culinary theatre. Imagine live cooking stations serving up dishes with the flair of a fine dining restaurant. From sashimi so fresh, it redefined how I think about lean tuna—the texture was almost reminiscent of beef!—to the incredibly generous portions of salmon roe. Each dish was top-tier, but the dessert station truly took my breath away. A unique pumpkin and sweet potato creation was the surprise highlight, and I couldn’t help but indulge in multiple helpings of the organic apple, crisp and fresh like it was picked that very morning. For fitness enthusiasts, there’s even a decent gym—a rarity for many onsen hotels. Meanwhile, the 24-hour lounge provides a range of delectable snacks, all of which are sold in their store. And though the prices may seem steep, the taste makes them worth every yen. The free daily scoop of Peter Beier ice cream was simply divine. Made with Hokkaido milk, the vanilla was already a showstopper, but the pistachio took the experience to another level. After this, it was impossible not to purchase their chocolate truffles—pricey, but easily worth the splurge. The experience extends outside the hotel, where an outdoor foot bath awaits with a view that will make you feel like you’ve entered another world. As long as the weather cooperates, this is an experience not to be missed. In short, Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort might officially be a 3-star, but in our hearts, it’s a five-star experience through and through. A perfect blend of luxury, nature, and comfort, it’s an onsen resort that deserves to be on every discerning traveller’s radar."

"It's along the national highway, but it's very nice to be surrounded by forests. The sauna was also water-cool, but the thick bath next to it was the best. Bogey was my first experience, but by the time I went around for two weeks, I was working in a corner while spinning. Even at this time of year, it was cold at night, and I enjoyed the fluctuation of cooking firewood and watching the cup. Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture was humid, but it was the best without the humidity of Shari Town. Thank you. I will visit you again."
