My wife and I stayed here for five nights and really enjoyed it. The owners Mark & Caz were very warm, friendly and welcoming, the b&b itself is exceptionally clean, comfortable, quiet(it's adults only so no noisy, screeming kids!) with very modern, light, tasteful decor throughout. We had room number 8 which is very spacious and again, very clean, modern and light. It has separate lavatory and shower rooms which I,personally think is a good idea! The bed was comfortable so no problems with sleep although, unfortunately,we did woken quite early by the seagulls, but then, you are close to the sea. The breakfast is delicious,we had the full english on 3 occasions and bacon and sausage sandwiches for the remainder, all freshly cooked and served lovely and hot.Pots of tea and coffee are served and again nice and hot. Cereals, yoghurts, toast, juices etc are help yourself. I believe there are 4 rooms here and off road car parking for 3-4 reasonable sized cars but if they are full, you can park in the adjoining strees close by. The b&b is close to bus stops and the railway station is about 5-10 minutes walk away. You can access the beach and espanade via a lift if walking is difficult which again is about 5-10 minutes or you can walk it in about 20. There are many pubs, resturants and take aways close by and shops to look around-the actual little village of Shanklin is beautiful. I would very highly recommend staying at The Richmond if you want relaxation, peace, quiet,a warm, friendly welcome,a delicious breakfast and excellent value for money. I'm a little fussy but seriously, I could find nothing to moan about! Thank you Mark & Caz for a wonderful stay!
