I had great time staying here for the first night and then I booked another two nights. It is just right in the old town near North gate and it it quite easy to find on the map. If you wanna eat, it is better just to walk out of old town and there are so many restaurants around. People in the hostel are very friendly and helpful as I ask them about hiking and booking tours. I recommend this place for everyone who comes to visit Shangri-la

The cleanliness of the hostel is horrible the toilets look awful and they smoke in building although it looks open the building isn't open and the smoke enters the room and get stuck to mattress if you don't like smoking like it is suggested that you will not stay there

Dirty. Nobody has cleaned in years. The bathroom is totally unacceptable. The public toilets of the city are in much better conditions than this bathroom, besides there is no women/men different toilet. The shower is a disaster. The common area is dirty, food leftovers and empty bottles. The bed was smelly. I had to leave. Only good thing is the location and the price, but the hygiene conditions are very poor.

Really lovely stay, it's about what you expect from a youth hostel. Safe and warm with bed heaters which is nice in Shangrila!

I like staying in hostels and have a pretty large tolerance for semi-clean places, however, this hostel seemed like it hadn't been cleaned since it opened. The potential charm was lost due to the lack of concern of tidiness. Also the people there at the time, were night owls and after a day of traveling I'm in bed early so it just wasn't a good fit for me.

This place has a lot of potential but would be much better if it was cleaner. Then again, it is less than 20 kuai a night, so it’s kind of hard to complain. Definitely a good option if you’re on a budget.

When I go out alone, I prefer to stay in a youth hostel. The atmosphere is particularly good and the owner often organizes hiking. It really deserves to be a home for hikers! Highly recommend this place to friends who like hiking! There is also a cute little kitten in the store, you can pet it as you like! It never barks because it is very old hahaha~ The location of the youth hostel is also very good, with convenient transportation, right at the entrance of the ancient city. The room is very clean and the quilt covers are changed after every guest.

The location is very convenient, very close to taxis and various restaurants, and also very close to the train station. The boss is very nice and easy to talk to. He will help if you need anything. There is an electric blanket in the room, which heats up very quickly. You won’t feel cold when you sleep at night. cat cat

If the weather is cold, there is an electric blanket to solve the problem. The bed sheets and quilt covers are changed once per person, which is clean and hygienic. Public bathrooms are cleaned in time. The room is clean and the common area is tidy. It is a comfortable and safe place to stay. This is a youth hostel that meets basic accommodation conditions. If you have any problems, you can communicate one by one and solve them as much as possible. This is not a star hotel and cannot provide five-star services. The target groups of youth hostels and hotels are different. Yuenniao receives mostly travelers who do not have high requirements for accommodation and can meet their basic accommodation needs. Moon Bird provides more intangible and non-material value. There is a group of interesting people who exchange a lot of information about free travel and hiking. Thanks to Brother Ming for giving everyone a utopia and allowing a group of special souls to have a safe place. This is already my second time staying here, and I will stay here again in the future. The moon bird feels safe, comfortable, warm and nostalgic.

I stayed for one night, so I had to bring my own shower gel and shampoo. The B&B didn't provide them, but the toilet was very dirty. I hope the B&B owner would pay attention. Everything else was fine, and the electric blanket was warm enough to keep me awake until dawn.
