Warm Hospitality & Comfortable Stay Near Shangri-La Ancient Town
I had such a great stay at Shanshui Yunjian Inn! The owner, his wife, and their son were absolutely amazing—so friendly, warm, and always ready to help. They even allowed me to check in early, which I really appreciated after a long journey.
The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the attached heater made the chilly weather feel cozy. I honestly had one of the best sleeps during my trip here.
They also helped me rent a motorbike at a very affordable price, which made it easy for me to explore Napahai Lake and the Songzanlin Monastery.
The inn’s decor is simple but tasteful, with a relaxing atmosphere. Plus, it’s just a short walk to Shangri-La Ancient Town, which is super convenient.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants comfort, kindness, and a good location in Shangri-La!

The room is clean and very spacious for 3 of us. Owner is very nice & friendly to pick us up & send us to railway station. Just need to wechat them beforehand. However, toilet has no bidet. The homestay is very pretty. Near to halal restaurant with few minutes walk. 😊

The owner is very kind and helpful, offered to sen us to the railway station as we are rushing to get on the train on time 🥹. Overall, a very nice experience and stay, also the hotel is walkable to the dukezong town, can also rent bike or car at this hotel so its easier for us to travel around and return the bike at the hotel only. Please please book this hotel! 🥹✨

Amazing service, room and location! I was in contact with the owners before my trip via WeChat and they were very kind and explained away my worries! They also helped us sign up for cultural experiences that would have probably went under the radar if not for them. The inn was also located very close to the ancient city and was a quick 7min walk! Overall, would stay again if I’m back here in Shangri-La!

Solid 100/100 stay! Love the spacious big room with glassroof for stargazing & natural sunlight (with remote shades). Cleanliness is superb. Whole place is so well-designed. Extremely welcoming & helpful hosts who make us feels home - personally picked us up & sent us off to the train station (for free!), free flow herbal tea, help us with great tips & info on our itinerary! Definitely the best stay experience!! 冲冲冲!简直了这间客栈🥹❤️ 根本天花板级的服务和住宿！

Homestay location is superb and walking distance to the old town with plenty of restaurants just outside the honestay too. Run by a lovely and friendly Chinese couple, and they would go all out to assist you in your needs. You can also do your laundry for free as washing machines are provided. The owner, too, provides a day tour with his own luxury cars at very reasonable fees. On our last day, instead of taking the train to Lijiang, we hired him to drive us to Lijiang as we wanted to see the scenery along the mountains road and stopping at Baisuitai and Tiger Leaping Gorge and arriving at Lijiang around 8.00pm. Would definitely stay at this place if i have a chance to come back to Shangri-La. .

We stayed at this lovely homestay for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The place is cozy, clean, and very comfortable—perfect for a short getaway. What really made our stay special was the owner’s incredible hospitality.
They kindly picked us up and dropped us off at the train station free of charge, which made our trip so much easier. Throughout our stay, they were always available, offering help, local tips, and genuine kindness. It felt more like staying with a friend than just a guesthouse.
Highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and personal experience. We’d definitely stay here again!

a great place in the old city. it is hidden away so quiet and the greenhouse courtyard is very good design. the bathroom is a little old. the tea in lobby is tasty.
