Tasong Hotel, Shangri-La City

The hotel is new and the rooms are very clean. It's well-equipped with amenities, including an oxygen concentrator, underfloor heating, a smart toilet, and air conditioning. Air-conditioned hotels are rare in Shangri-La. The owner and the front desk lady were very welcoming, offering a pick-up from the station and a fruit plate upon check-in. The hotel is in a great location, right next to the Diqing State Government, with pharmacies and hospitals just outside (perfect for those prone to altitude sickness). It's also very close to the north gate of Dukezong Ancient Town (a five- to six-minute walk), and it's quieter and more convenient than staying inside the old town. A small suggestion would be to add more towel hanging space in the room.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of the ancient city. The service was excellent, and the stay was very pleasant. I would definitely consider staying here again next time. I booked two days and extended my stay for two more. The only downside was the breakfast. Perhaps due to the hotel's small size, the selection was limited and lacked any unique flavors. As a Yunnan native, the rice noodles and rice vermicelli were quite ordinary, so I ate out for the other two days.

It was a very satisfying stay. The family room we booked was a great value for the price. The room was bright and spacious, almost suite-sized, with separate wet and dry areas, separate bathrooms, and a standard oxygen concentrator. The TV was a projector, allowing you to watch it from your bed. The peaches in the fruit were incredibly sweet, though I didn't realize there was an airport pick-up service at first. The owner's presence made up for it, making up for the experience. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the laundry. There was only one washing machine and one dryer, and guests on two floors were vying for them. The hotel should provide detailed instructions and improve staff training. We almost got into an argument with a guest over some inaccurate instructions. However, I was speechless when I encountered a demanding guest. They asked us to wash several clothes three times in a shared area, treating it like our own home. We tolerated it three times, but they knew we were waiting to use them, and they asked us to wash them first and then dry them when they were empty. The staff didn't intervene to defuse the situation, and even warned us not to wash clothes while the dryer was drying. A fight almost broke out between us.

The room was spacious and the hotel was clean. There was also rhodiola rosea available on the first floor, and an oxygen machine in the room. The breakfast could be improved.

The hotel is very new and very close to the ancient city, about 7-8 minutes away. The room is clean and hygienic. I will stay here again next time.

The front desk staff were also very friendly. On check-out day, I didn't anticipate the traffic jam at Pudacuo and returned late. I called the front desk, and they helped me unpack my belongings and requested a late check-out. This will definitely be my next Shangri-La stay. A friend was traveling with me, so I booked a king-size room for her, which was also very nice.
