Hutiaoxia Town Muyun Banshan Homestay

We stayed here on an overnight hiking trip through Tiger Leaping Gorge. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and the views were out of this world. The staff went out of their way to answer questions regarding the second portion of our hike. Dinner and breakfast were tasty.

The view from the room and rooftop is truly stunning — definitely the highlight of this hotel. You can see the mountains and surrounding nature right from your bed, and the rooftop terrace is a great place to relax with a coffee or a drink. The hotel is quite new and located right next to a restaurant, which makes it super convenient for meals. That said, there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of service and cleanliness. Staff didn’t seem very attentive, and their uniforms were not very clean, which affected the overall impression. My room also wasn’t as clean as I’d expect from a newer hotel. If you’re coming mainly for the view and location, it’s a good pick — just don’t expect high-level service.

My friend and I stayed in the 'Cozy Standard Room with View (3F)' at Hutiaoxia Town Muyun Banshan Homestay (虎跳峡镇沐云半山民宿) for one night and highly recommend this hotel if you are planning to hike and stay a night at the Tiger Leaping Gorge area. Number of nights of stay: 1 night Hotel: Located just 10 metres away from Halfway Guesthouse (中途客栈) (Tigerbucks Coffee at Halfway Guesthouse has very good coffee and pastries), which is a pitstop for the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge trail Room: Spacious and clean room. Two double beds (which were really comfortable), one desk with a chair, one clothes rack. Amazing view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the room Bathroom: Separate shower and toilet area. Toiletries (e.g. shampoo, conditioner and body soap), disposable toothbrush/toothpaste, towels and disposable bedroom slippers were provided Hotel amenities: Rooftop observation deck (with a swing) with unparalleled view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain; small mini mart at the ground floor; has a restaurant. Additional charge for breakfast (8am-9.40am daily). Dinner at the hotel restaurant (opens till 9pm) was really yummy and affordable - we ordered the noodles, fried cabbage, egg drop seaweed soup and steamed chicken in soup, and it was our best meal in Yunnan. No lift in the hotel but our room was located on the same floor as the entrance so we did not have any issues transporting our luggage

Located just across the street from the popular Halfway guesthouse. This guesthouse is very new and clean. The view from the rooms is real and not photoshop. We were quite happy with the view and location. The dinner was good, it was the best 虎皮青椒 I've had. The family who runs the guesthouse is extremely kind. It was slow season, so the hotel seemed a bit understaffed. It was sometimes hard to find people working. But they have wechat and you can contact them. The cafe and rooftop are quite nice. I think this guesthouse will become very popular, especially in the high season. The price is very good.

The view from my room was the most beautiful I've ever had in my life Everything was clean and check in was painless Would stay again My buddy was at the halfway hotel across the road and it was a 1 minute walk - and I still got to use the deck, and eat at the halfway restaurant If you're like me and need to have your reservation before you go - this place is ideal

The room is very big, good aircon to make the room warm. Beautiful terrace.the owners are friendly and helpful. Would be better to have some towel racks in the bathroom.
