Hotels near Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center in Shanghai

I booked this hotel because I was flying out of Pudong early and the location is amazing, within walking distance to T1 in around 5 minutes. The check in staff were very kind and helpful and the room although basic was everything I needed. The hotel is a little tricky to find however many people have left directions in their reviews and that helped. There is a food court , currency exchange ,Macdonalds and convenience store around 3 mins walk away.I slept pretty well and will definitely stay here again, for the price and location this place is Perfect!

Check-in wasn’t a good experience, but the hotel was okay after that. When I first checked-in, the room key cards I was given didn’t work, which was frustrating as the room was one of the furthest from reception. This meant I had to go all the way back for new keys after a long day. I just wanted to relax! Then the second room I was given didn’t match the photos on Trip.com, in particular it didn’t have a real window, looking over the dining area rather than outside. But when finally settled into the third room, the stay was okay. It was supposedly an upgrade, but it only looked like the room I had booked. The location is the big plus: right on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street which leads to the Bund, both iconic locations that are great to visit. I didn’t have the breakfast as there were no spare seats, so I went to a nearby McDonald’s instead. The hotel needs to enlarge its dining area.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The rooms were modern and clean, and the breakfast was fresh with a good variety to choose from. Regarding breakfast, more western options would be great. The hotel was walking distance from Nanjing Road shopping street, about two blocks away, entering near the Zara store. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and one could communicate in English.

I booked 4 nights in Dec2023. As it was winter, the entire hotel's aircon cooling system was turned off and switched to heating mode. There is no cooling mode in all the rooms. We were unfamiliar with the aircon settings and this resulted in our room becoming hot as a sauna. We slept on top of our blankets and were drenched in sweat in the middle of the night. Luckily for the 24 hours front desk, we called for help at 2am. They were cheerful and responsive and even sent someone up to our room and brought us a fan to circulate the air. And when an empty room was available the next day, they gave us an upgrade to a larger room with a much better air circulation. Despite paying only a fraction of the price of a big brand hotel (like Hyatt, Marriott or ), the service we received at JinJiang is on par or better. All the staff speak English and are attentive and eager to please. If things go wrong, let them know and give them a chance to rectify. I highly recommend this hotel for the excellent location and impeccable service. Thank you JinJiang Metropolo hotel for making my stay in Shanghai so enjoyable despite having almost no sleep the first two nights. This hotel is very near to Da Shi Jie mrt station which is about 4mins walk from Exit 6. Conveniently travel to city center of Shanghai in just few stops away or by interchange of stops to other tourist places. Staffs are friendly where they allowed us to kept our luggages while we are away to other places due to our flight is departing at 11pm. On the 2nd night of the stay our room 825 had second hand smoke smells which is very awfully disgusting to smell and I did called the customer service to ask for room exchange, and on the next day we were moved to room 925. Really thanks on this.

Basic but clean room , comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast area is chaotic. Even the uniformed security guy helping to clear dishes. It leaves a very unprofessional impression. One strange policy is they offer breakfast for 1 person only for a room booked for 2 guests.

Overall a disappointing experience for several reasons. I’m not one who usually writes negative reviews or makes lists of issues when I stay at hotels, but there were a few that were difficult to ignore: 1. I stayed on Christmas Eve because we were having the hotel’s brunch the next day. I thought I would have a nice, relaxing morning to wake up and get ready, but instead was awoken to construction work out in the hallway—drilling and hammering that were incredibly loud. Furthermore, the whole room was then filled with the STRONGEST, AWFUL smell of burning plastic that I had ever smelt. Because none of the windows in the room could open, I had to suffer through the smell and try to ready as quickly as possible…not a pleasant way to wake up! 2. The bathroom just wasn’t clean. There were urine and possible blood stains on the toilet seat and floor that I had to wipe away when I first arrived to the room. Cleaning services should do a better job to check the toilet surfaces when cleaning. 3. It’s December and the middle of a cold snap in Shanghai, but for some reason the room was unbearably hot and stuffy. I turned off the heating and even tried to turn on the cold AC but the temperature remained the same. It was difficult to sleep because of how hot and sweaty I was. The windows couldn’t be opened so I couldn’t even get a fresh breeze…

Service: 5/5 stars. Extremely friendly staff. The reception team is very helpful in giving room and meal information. The staff kindly gave us a Mingzhu tower view for our 2nd night here - it was a tough request but they made it happen! Thank you Jay! Location: 5/5. Located directly on Nanjing road where all the food stops and only 12 minutes walking distance to the Bund! Food: 10/5 The breakfast selection here is SUPERB. They have cold dishes like salad, hot food such as noodles and pan fried buns and local snacks such as fried rice cubes (?) Ci fan gao. I booked this hotel stay to celebrate my mums 65th birthday and the hotel staff are so sweet and organised a beautiful chocolate cake for us. Honestly, this hotel is fabulous and is worth your money!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel was very clean and well-maintained, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable for the quality of service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice and affordable place to stay near to Nanjing road.

The hotel is conveniently located and there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel staff are friendly, nice and helpful. Just 2 things that caused certain inconveniences. 1. The staff took away the bath mat and forgot to replace a new one. 2. The door could not be closed tightly in the shower room and water did leak out of the door. Overall stay is satisfactory and I will stay again.
