Overall, it is an excellent hotel. The location is extremely convenient, right at Xintiandi. The hotel is not brand new, but very well maintained. Two points I would like to make: 1. if you book your trip through third party, you cannot use your stay toward your frequent stay points (not a huge deal). 2. they do not have room to fit our family of 4. We need to reserve two rooms. This is because of the room type, not really anything to do with the hotel itself.

Selected the hotel as a trip.com diamond member and was offered to be given the benefit of accessing the hotel lounge which turned out to be a disappointment as the so called happy hour had nothing much except a couple of plates of snacks and some drinks. The lounge service is pretty ordinary, staff there were kind of so bored standing round. This is a total gimmick from both the hotel and Trip.com . However, the breakfast was good with a nice range of selections and decent service. Overall, the hotel amenities are starting to look dated and tired and the pool was tiny with the surrounding facilities look also a bit shabby. The 5 star status remain to be challenged.

InterContinental being my favorite hotel, I always look for one wherever I go. I was in Shanghai for a short stay and I wanted it to be relaxing and elegant so… didn’t have to think too much about it. You guys never disappoint me. First of all, just by walking around th hotel you get a free history lesson about Shanghai from decades ago. Beautiful paintings on the wall, gorgeous architecture, y’all the bathtub in my room was… incredible. It made me forgive you for not having the spa working on that day. There’s this quiet room you can go to read a book or just enjoy the pictures of important events, people or movies. The food is good! I spent my morning walking around the beautiful garden. My room had a great view and a balcony, thanks to the gentleman who made my checkin. I tend to get the highest floor and he was super nice in getting a really good room for me when I explained what I wanted. On the way to my room I met this elegant butler who easily told me how to get to my room like he had the hotel map memorized in his head and gave me this Downton Abbey vibes, you know what I mean?! Amazing!!! Love it ❤️

I booked the hotel to spend the New Year’s Eve. We arrived there at 12:00 am to make check in because it’s normal in China to make early check in. The reception attendant said that the room was not ready, we needed to wait until 14:00. Ok, we came back at 14:10. Waited in a long line to make check in. In the end the receptionist said that the room was still not ready, asked us to wait more 30 minutes. At 15:00 we were able to enter the room. Seems like the reason for this problem was over booking, but the hotel is a 5 star hotel, I expected a better trea**ent. They didn’t offer anything to apologize. Apart of it, the room is good, nice view.

Could see the hotel's basically remants of some classy types in the past (the building and bathroom etc.) but not sure re value for money/friendlieness, was given a room on the first floor (cathay gardens, or the low south building) with view completely blocked by walls. Staff in reception/cafeteria all very businesslike. To be fair it might have felt a harsh contrast coz visited after disneyland. Still, would try tower or other nearby hotels if visiting shanghai next time

Location is good . 20 minute walk from Found 158 venue and 5 minute walk to Line 10. Front desk was friendly at check-in and checkout - however the next morning I requested a bottle of water (from different worker )because I didn’t receive any for the new day. He said “only 2 bottles of water per day” . First , he was so quick to provide an answer he was wrong , and secondly , are we going to be petty about 1 bottle of water ? The bar that holds the clothes broke- but the manager said don’t worry, no charge . My hot water from the shower was gone within 2 minutes but maintenance fixed it . TV is large . Great view of the city. The “gym” is eh. Twin bed combined to make king . Room is warm . Pillows are soft

Pure Japanese style, very good living experience, especially the bathtub is relatively large. The hotel provides disposable bathtub covers and milk bubble liquid, which is very hygienic and convenient. Breakfast is a nine-square grid, and coffee and tea are self-service. The hotel has a relatively small front, but the location is excellent. It is only a few minutes walk to Tianzifang and Xintiandi. In Shanghai, where land is at a premium, being able to live in the central area is very helpful for traveling and experiencing the charm of the city.

The location is great. It takes 20 minutes to walk to Xintiandi, 15 minutes to Sinan Road, and 3 minutes to the Madang Road subway. It is suitable for city walks. The breakfast is also great, with rich varieties and fresh fruits. The daily breakfast is the most comfortable meal of the day. The boss has a calm but bourgeois taste, and his intentions can be seen in the design of the restaurant and lobby. During the day, you can also see the parrot raised by the boss🦜 Also worthy of praise is that the mattress is very comfortable, and the smart toilet, slippers, takeaway robot, and dryer are all worthy of praise. The waiter in the restaurant, Xiao Chen, is a fellow from Chongqing. He is warm and considerate. He helps with baking bread and making coffee. Thank you. I cannot begin to explain how incredible our stay was!!! We are two friends traveling to celebrate my birthday and the staff ember coincidentally had a delicious cake ready for us in the room. Not only this but upon finding out my friends and I’s birthdays are a week apart, she went and got it both gifts!!! Nina is the reason I will always come back to this hotel and recommend all my friends and family who visit Shanghai. The service of the staff was really amazing , great attention to details, big room and space in general. Shower had THE BEST water pressure 😍 the room was clean, well decorated and with great views. The warmth and kindness shown by Nina Tao alone made us melt inside. Didn’t know a stranger could be such a friend and be such a ray of sunshine go no reason but just to make us feel good! Nina Tao is incredible and this hotel is unforgettable. We WILL be back ❤️❤️❤️

In general, staff don’t speak and read English, even basic words for hospitality industry. When I first showed my booking to receptionist to check in, she didn’t check at all and told me to ask customer service in Trip. I guess she didn’t understand the booking I had shown her. So highly recommend to show chinese version of your booking to smooth check-in process. Except language barrier, everything (facilities, staff attitute, cleaness,…) is almost perfect.

It is my first choice of homestay next time I come to Shanghai Located in Lane 19, Yongjia Road, the traffic is very convenient, there are places such as Ruijin Hospital in a few steps, and the scenery is also very good. We went to rest after playing Disney. When we opened the door, we fell in love with this small room. The house is small but the floor height is very high. The space is also very reasonable. Our three good friends sleep comfortably and the room is very clean. The overall style of the room is also very beautiful, the housekeeper is also super invincible and enthusiastic, and any needs can be met. In the future, Shanghai will give priority to 🫰

The place is quite nice. Everything is new and in good condition. There are some minor things like scratches on the walls and the floor wasn’t quite clean I would say, but overall it’s much better than most places. They could put some useful things in the rooms, like shoehorns, or bottle openers, and it would be just great. I mean, you put a sex box in the room, but you didn’t think about simple things like a bottle opener?😂 There’s a kettle as well, but not even a couple of tea bags. Also, there’s no fridge or safe in the room, which is kind of inconvenient. And please please please wash the windows! The view from our room was really good, but it was spoiled by a horribly dirty window.

I really recommend this hotel because thier front desk staff are very attentive to customers request and they give free unlimited bottles water. The toilet is very clean and have automatic bidet or washlet same quality to the korea and japan standard. The downside of hotel is very far from the train station around 10mins walk.
