Hotels in Pudong International Airport Area, Shanghai

Facilities: They have a washing machine with a dryer, which I didn't get to try as I arrived quite late this time. The TV offers live broadcasts with 30 channels, including major networks, which was sufficient. All necessary shower amenities are provided, along with both disposable and bathroom slippers. The showerhead even features multiple spray settings. The WiFi speed wasn't great, which might be related to the high occupancy – I noticed a lot of international guests during my stay. Service: They offer a parcel receiving service, but it seems they handle a lot of deliveries, so it's best to know what your package looks like to help them find it faster. The breakfast provided for airport transfers was sufficient to fill up on, with options like fresh eggs that you can fry yourself, freshly ground coffee, congee, siu mai, and fresh fruit. Cleanliness: Cleanliness was satisfactory. Environment: The area downstairs is packed with small restaurants, so you'll never go hungry, no matter the hour. Pudong Airport Shuttle Service: They offer a scheduled minibus shuttle to Pudong Airport; during regular hours, just contact them in advance, and it generally runs once an hour. The airport drop-off is a shared coach service with other hotels. It departs each hotel at XX:40 and arrives at the terminal on the hour. Make sure to manage your time accordingly. It drops off at Terminal 1 first, then Terminal 2. Disneyland Shuttle: I didn't get to try the Disneyland shuttle this time. My original plan was to arrive by 3 PM and use the free shuttle to scout the area a day beforehand, but my travel schedule was delayed. Maybe next time if the opportunity arises.

Our bathroom had a terrible wash basin (it is more than 3 feet high with a small basin that is set inside by about 6 inches). Brushing teeth is a challenge! Floor tiles are slippery if not for a bath cotton mat and rubber mat inside the shower area. There may be plans for a drying line soon? Fortunately, in the meantime, there is a laundry room for house guests. Breakfast - chinese continental with very limited choice. The only convenient and good service, is the shuttle bus to the airport (round the clock and punctual). It is an ideal place to stay since it provides drop off and pick up service (once in the early morning and once when the park closes) to/from Disneyland.

Great stay! The hotel is conveniently located right inside the airport, making it perfect for transit or early flights. It’s very easy to find and check-in was smooth. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, a very convenient and pleasant experience.

With the price I paid for I think is extremely worth it. They even provide airport transfer which makes it very convenient for us. Breakfast starts as early as 6am for guest checking out at 7am.. I think is very accommodating. The surrounding area has many restaurants, convenient stores and a big supper market to shop..

The hotel proactively contacted us the day before arrival via message, providing airport pickup and check-in information. Their complimentary airport shuttle runs hourly without prior booking, which is highly convenient for international travelers. Even on a typhoon night, the driver departed from the airport exactly on time. The front desk staff were incredibly service-oriented, friendly, and efficient. They even proactively asked if we needed to book a shuttle for our return to the airport. When we checked out, we hailed our own taxi, and the front desk staff promptly opened the gate, allowing the car to drive right up to the hotel entrance. The room was quite clean, but despite being a non-smoking room, there was a strong smell of smoke when we first entered. Having flown for 16 hours, we were too exhausted to bother changing rooms, so we just opened the windows to ventilate. However, the bathroom exhaust fan continuously emitted a smoky smell, likely due to other guests disregarding the rules, not the hotel's fault. Soundproofing was a bit disappointing; the adjacent room's doorbell often made me think it was ringing in my own room. I suspect they experienced the same confusion when my doorbell rang, as they also opened their door. The laundry room offered complimentary washing machines and dryers, along with detergent and disinfectant, which was very convenient for guests. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay and found it offered excellent value for money. I would definitely book this hotel again for future layovers in Pudong.

Perfect choice for a convenient and comfortable overnight stay before my flight. The hotel is very close to the airport, and the free shuttle runs every 30 minutes to both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, operating smoothly and right on time — ideal for catching early departures or late arrivals. The rooms are clean, modern, and well-insulated, offering a great view of departing aircraft for anyone who enjoys watching airport traffic. Despite the proximity to the runways, the noise level is minimal thanks to excellent soundproofing. The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise, featuring a nice mix of Chinese and Western options — eggs, pastries, noodles, fruit, and fresh coffee — all well presented and constantly replenished. Staff were friendly, check-in was quick, and overall the stay was efficient and enjoyable.

I communicated our pick up needs to hotel at regular intervals and keot them updated about our flight. Advised would be arriving a little early due to flight. Was told to call after landing - no answer. Tried messaging on we chat took a while for response. No clear directions. So arrived at exit after clearing customs and collecting bags. Then told to go back upstairs to gate 3 departures. Waited out there for a long time. Over half an hour. Many other hotels collected people with many others coming and going while we waited. One hotel had 3 vehicles with their name on it pick up patrons in the time we were standing there. I can now see why we were the only ones going to Novotel. Clearly the driver did not leave the hotel after long after we advised we had arrived. When he did turn up in a rundown silver van with no name on it. He drove like a mad man and dangerously. He think he was trying to make up for time. He was rather rude when he dropped us off, not a word from him. Check in experience was no better. Two girls on reception were talking **** about us - yes I had my translator on after explaining our check in details to them. Very poor service and actually unprofessional behaviour. Room service had finished so we weren't able to get anything to eat. Did not feel able nor did I want to speak with front desk again to ask for assistance in ordering some food. Only staff that was friendly or even acknowledged us was the lovely cleaning lady on our floor the following morning. Breakfast was okay. Laundry was a mess from another lady who pulled out all her washing dripping wet and made a huge puddle on the floor. If there had been a towel I would have cleaned up her mess! We wish we had gone straight to the hotel we had originally planned to but opted for the Novotel due to close proximity to airport for our late flight back into Shanghai. We would have been better off going straight to the original hotel over an hour away. I believe we still would have arrived earlier. We have stayed at Novotel Auckland Airport in New Zealand a few times and the service is impeccable. Unfortunately Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha is not a good representation of the Novotel brand. Also considering this an airport hotel with many tourists likely utilizing it - very few things have English translation including the vending machine. The hotel building itself is nice and the only positive. Won't be back - step up your game. I usually do rave reviews and very rarely do negative unless warranted.

What an amazing facility,it exceeded my expectations! I stayed in a lot of 5star hotels in Shanghai but to my surprise their service is way better.I booked last minute due to travel changes and needed to be close to the airport for my morning flight.The rooms are very clean,their service is excellent and they offered me free shuttle service to the airport at 4am! They also gave me breakfast snacks for the road .So thoughtful!! I can’t say it enough how good their service was❤️

The hotel offers airport pick-up and drop-off, but I couldn’t contact them in advance. There was no WeChat number provided to confirm the pick-up time, and since I'm not Chinese and don’t have a local phone number, I could only try contacting them through WeChat and the Trip.com app — but I never got a reply. In the end, I had to take a taxi from the airport (over 30 minutes). When I explained the situation to the hotel staff, they kindly reimbursed my taxi fare — really good customer service. The room was modern, breakfast had a wide variety, and everything was very clean. Overall, it was great value for money. If it weren’t for the communication issue, I would definitely stay here again.

We took the kids to Disney and were planning to fly back the next day. We randomly booked a family suite at Light Inn Hotel via Ctrip, and it truly exceeded our expectations! The lobby had popcorn, which was a huge hit with the kids. Breakfast was very generous, and I particularly enjoyed the scallion oil noodles prepared by the auntie. The mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable too. The decor was simple yet modern and bright, the layout was well-designed, and the smart features were also top-notch.
