Hotels in Pudong International Airport Area, Shanghai

The hotel was very clean and we had an amazing stay. The highlight of the stay aside from the amazing city of Chongqing was Dengrong one of the hotel staff. She was available whenever we needed help and was extremely nice and helped us arrange a great itinerary for our stay. Her hotpot recommendation was great! Will definitely consider booking again. Thank you Dengrong!! 😁😁🌹🌹

It is a great place to live in for a solar trailer and very cheap closer to the airport and they have an economic breakfast and the staff are very friendly especially at the reception 

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be a mixed experience with several significant drawbacks. The Positives: The hotel's fitness facility. The gym is open from 9 AM to 9 PM and is stocked with weights and reasonable exercise equipment. The Negatives: Unfortunately, the negatives heavily impacted my stay. The most noticeable issue was the unfriendly staff; almost all team members I interacted with were not welcoming or helpful, which created a cold atmosphere. In contrast to the description in the Trip app, their English knowledge was poor and they did not take the effort to use translate apps. The breakfast was another letdown. The selection is not very good and is overwhelmingly tailored to Chinese tastes, with little to no variety for international travelers. While it is cheap, the quality and lack of options make it hard to recommend. Additionally, there is no WiFi available in the breakfast room (and other spaces outside of the room), which is inconvenient for travelers who need to check emails or plans while having their morning meal. Conclusion While the gym and price are appealing, the poor service, unsatisfactory breakfast, and lack of amenities like widespread WiFi make it difficult to recommend. There are other hotels within walking distance that might offer a higher price-to-quality ratio and a more pleasant overall experience. I would suggest also looking at those alternatives for a more comfortable and welcoming stay.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms are very neat, spacious, and comfortable, making it perfect for both relaxation and convenience. A special mention to Ms. Xiao Hu (小胡), who assisted us throughout our stay with such kindness and professionalism. She went above and beyond, even offering us complimentary service from the hotel to Disneyland, as well as shuttle service to the airport. Her warm assistance truly made our experience extra special. they also have costumes (flintstones) that you can wear! my parents enjoyed the room!

Facilities: The laundry room has too few machines, and essential supplies are inadequately stocked (unlike Atour). Doing laundry always involves a long wait, which is incredibly frustrating! Luckily, most guests were considerate; seeing others waiting, they'd often use quick wash/dry cycles and even take their clothes out semi-dry to make way for the next person. Otherwise, you'd be there until midnight trying to finish a load. Furthermore, unlike Atour, there's no service to deliver your washed clothes to your room; you have to handle drop-off and pick-up yourself. Cleanliness: The room's walls and floors looked quite grubby. However, the bedding and bathroom were perfectly fine. Breakfast: Breakfast was fairly standard for this type of hotel – not bad at all – and the dining environment was pleasant. Noise/Soundproofing: The noise from planes taking off and landing, the subway, and general hallway chatter was incredibly loud! For a hotel in such a unique location, the soundproofing is surprisingly poor, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. A similar hotel I stayed at in Taiyuan, despite being right next to high-speed train tracks, had excellent sound insulation, resulting in minimal disturbance.

Somehow got this mixed up with the Holiday Inn that's by the airport... Be aware this one involves a ~35min ride in a little mini-bus which isn't ideal for a late night layover arrangement. That said, the staff were helpful and acccomodating, and the facilities were good and clean. The shower was good, decent pressure. Little line in there to hang a couple of things on so I could wash + dry them. Very handy. Comfortable bed. Basically everything here is great and good value, but the location is not the best, and the time spent getting there and back on the shuttle bus schedule is time that could be spent sleeping, so bear that in mind.

I communicated our pick up needs to hotel at regular intervals and keot them updated about our flight. Advised would be arriving a little early due to flight. Was told to call after landing - no answer. Tried messaging on we chat took a while for response. No clear directions. So arrived at exit after clearing customs and collecting bags. Then told to go back upstairs to gate 3 departures. Waited out there for a long time. Over half an hour. Many other hotels collected people with many others coming and going while we waited. One hotel had 3 vehicles with their name on it pick up patrons in the time we were standing there. I can now see why we were the only ones going to Novotel. Clearly the driver did not leave the hotel after long after we advised we had arrived. When he did turn up in a rundown silver van with no name on it. He drove like a mad man and dangerously. He think he was trying to make up for time. He was rather rude when he dropped us off, not a word from him. Check in experience was no better. Two girls on reception were talking **** about us - yes I had my translator on after explaining our check in details to them. Very poor service and actually unprofessional behaviour. Room service had finished so we weren't able to get anything to eat. Did not feel able nor did I want to speak with front desk again to ask for assistance in ordering some food. Only staff that was friendly or even acknowledged us was the lovely cleaning lady on our floor the following morning. Breakfast was okay. Laundry was a mess from another lady who pulled out all her washing dripping wet and made a huge puddle on the floor. If there had been a towel I would have cleaned up her mess! We wish we had gone straight to the hotel we had originally planned to but opted for the Novotel due to close proximity to airport for our late flight back into Shanghai. We would have been better off going straight to the original hotel over an hour away. I believe we still would have arrived earlier. We have stayed at Novotel Auckland Airport in New Zealand a few times and the service is impeccable. Unfortunately Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha is not a good representation of the Novotel brand. Also considering this an airport hotel with many tourists likely utilizing it - very few things have English translation including the vending machine. The hotel building itself is nice and the only positive. Won't be back - step up your game. I usually do rave reviews and very rarely do negative unless warranted.

If you can't speak and understand Chinese well, avoid this place ‼️ For non-chines speaker , services are really poor. Only a female night staff, driver who picked me up from the airport, and admin who I spoke to on WeChat are helpful and provide excellent services! even my Chinese skill is not that good, they all are being so understanding, kind and helpful to me. HOWEVER, the morning staffs on 5th June 2025 are TERRIBLE, not only they are not being helpful, they are also yelled at me. And I got different treatment from them because I can't speak Chinese very well. The morning staffs gave breakfast bags to 2 Chinese guests who signed up for the airport drop-off service at the same time at me but they did not give me a breakfast bag so I had to go get breakfast from the convenient store nearby by myself : ( And when the driver arrived, He yelled at me in Chinese, I didn't understand it clearly and didn't know if he was talking to me, if so, why did he has to yell at me TT so I asked a female staff at the counter, ”Is this the car to airport” and she gave me very bad attitude like I was annoying her. and said yes. After I got into the car the driver was really rude, when we arrived at the Pudong Airport T1, he yelled at t=me to get off the car. There're other two Chinese guests who were heading to T2 but they thought  they already arrived at their destination so now of them tried to got off at the same stop at me and the driver yelled at her very loud, I felt so bad for her.   The location:  Great! if you have an early morning flight to Pudong Airport, it only takes 15 mins driving from hotel to the Pudong Airport T1 Hotel facilities are alright. So many restaurants and convenience stores nearby  16 mins walk to the nearest train station  Cleanliness: found insects inside my room as the window was left opened when I got in TTTT  Honestly, I don't think it's worth money cause there're other hotels nearby airports that offer airport pickup/drop-off service with cheaper price, but I chose this one cause I at least expect better service from them as they are more expensive than others. 

This place is perfect for a red-eye flight layover! It's just a 17-minute drive from Terminal 2, and their shuttle service runs until 3 AM for pick-ups. The bedding was so comfortable; we fell asleep instantly after checking in. They even gave us a small gift upon check-out. I'll definitely choose to stay here again.

The stay at the hotel was amazing! Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and super helpful. From the moment I arrived I was greeted with a smile and the rooms were great. It is a short ride to the airport and they offer free pickup/ drop off. I would highly recommend staying here. Special thanks to all the staff and specifically Xiao Lan for being so welcoming and making the stay at the hotel amazing.
