Hotels in People's Square Area, Shanghai

The hotel has a very good location where you can walk down to the nanjing street. There are many local restaurants around the hotel. To get a taxi from didi is confusing for us from the beginning as we can’t find the pickup point under the hotel name. Recommend to put Grand Mercure as a pickup point and the taxi will pick you up right in front of the hotel lobby. The room we got is very spacious and clean. Only some days we smell of cigarettes a lot from other guests room who leave their room’s door open. Overall, I’m happy with the hotel and enjoy the trip so much.

I have stayed for 3nights, hotel is very clean and convenient, location of hotel is so near from Nanjing road (you can take around 4mins walking from hotel entrance to “Top Toy Nanjing”). And All staff here are very nice i got the good and nice suggestion about room, facilities and places around here. Special thanks to Xiao Hu (Staff person at Floor5 Lobby) She is very kind and supportive, i got good suggestion about nearby restaurants, souvenir shops and all must know-information for hotel. So i would like to recommend this hotel if you come to Shanghai with your wife or family due to the nearby location with Nanjing road (you can find family mart, chagee 24hours) and good service mind staff especially Xiao hu (she made me very impress).

Convenient location, close to Nanjing Street and easy to travel around. The room was clean and comfortable with a cozy bed and strong water pressure. From the hotel, you can even see the Oriental Pearl Tower. There are many restaurants and shopping areas nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for both business and leisure stays.

The hotel is close to The Bun and within walking distance. The room is clean, but the soundproofing isn’t great , you can sometimes hear people talking or doors opening and closing. The Wi-Fi signal is available, but you need to be near the window to get it (and our window faced another building). However, the signal is always strong in the lobby. The lobby lights are turned off at midnight. One small downside is that the staff didn’t manage outsiders who weren’t staying at the hotel but came in to enjoy the air-conditioning and charge their devices. Other than that, the staff were very helpful. We arranged for a car pickup at the hotel (note that the hotel has multiple branches, so be careful when giving the location). Luckily, the staff helped communicate with the driver for us.

Our stay at this hotel was truly enjoyable and delivered excellent value for money. The service throughout our visit was consistently professional and attentive, with staff going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The property maintained impeccable cleanliness standards in both the rooms and common areas, which we really appreciated. The location was absolutely perfect - ideally situated for exploring the area with convenient access to major attractions and local amenities. You really can’t ask for a better spot to base your travels from. While the hotel excelled in service quality, cleanliness, and location, the only area for potential improvement would be expanding some of the facilities and amenities. That said, given the competitive pricing, this minor limitation was completely understandable and didn’t detract from the overall positive experience. Would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers looking for solid service, pristine accommodations, and an unbeatable location at a fair price point. Sometimes the essentials done exceptionally well matter more than having every possible amenity.

Youli Hotel (People’s Square), Shanghai is a clean and modern 3-star hotel in the heart of Shanghai. It’s just 350 meters from People’s Square metro station and 700 meters from Nanjing Road, making it ideal for sightseeing and shopping. Rooms are comfortable, with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, private bathrooms, and daily housekeeping. Some rooms offer large windows with city views. The staff is friendly and speaks English, with helpful services like laundry, luggage storage, and taxi booking. Guests appreciate the attention to detail, such as small surprises for special occasions. With high reviews and a convenient location, it’s excellent value for travelers.

Excellent service : Breeno let us check in much earlier than usual. Ruby Li gave us late check out, an awesome restaurant recommendation, searched for a shop nearby for the item I was looking for & called a retail shop on my behalf to check if my purchase was ready - so appreciative of her amazing service! Keira Li at the Club Lounge also provided great service. Crowne Plaza is very strategically located with many attractions, restaurants & shops within walking distance. The room itself has traditional closets with doors (nice for privacy & neatness factors) & drawers within, effective blackout curtains, great lighting, magnifying vanity mirror & thick fluffy towels plus a retractable laundry line in the bathroom. I would love to stay there again when I go to Shanghai next time.

It's the biggest hostel I've been to in Shanghai. It's so big you could get lost trying to find your room. There are a lot of foreigners staying here, and it's very clean. The only things I would suggest are a better water dispenser for the guests, a new microwave, and the addition of a clothes dryer. Also, I recommend choosing a room away from the elevator, as there's a lot of echo in the corridors.

A bit old hotel, it wasnt a spotless clean but still acceptable. The room is a bit small, the location is strategic in the nanjing rd, the receptionists are very helpful and friendly. Still worth the price.

The hotel is extremely clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. They helped us with all our requests happily and we feel very comfortable here. Highly recommend! :)
