We absolutely enjoyed the stay at this place. Host was very friendly, and accommodating to our needs. It was also easy to get to attractions as there is a metro nearby, and also a few shopping malls. There are also convenient shops nearby that is open 24/7 so if you’re hungry in the middle of the night you can quickly grab a snack. Not to mention the view from the apartment! You can clearly see the shanghai tower and also the oriental pearl tower from this apartment. 10/10 for me and I will definitely return here if I am back in Shanghai!

I had the pleasure of being assisted by Joanna at the hotel reception, and I cannot praise her enough. From the moment I arrived, Joanna was warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. She made the check-in process smooth and efficient, answering all my questions with patience and a genuine smile.
What truly stood out was her attention to detail and her willingness to go above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Whether it was helping with local recommendations, assisting with special requests, or just her friendly attitude every time I passed by the front desk — Joanna truly made me feel valued as a guest.
It’s rare to come across someone who combines efficiency, professionalism, and heartfelt hospitality so effortlessly. She is a real asset to the hotel, and because of her, I would gladly return and recommend this place to others.
Thank you, Joanna, for making my stay such a positive and memorable experience!

The location is great , only 3 mins walk to the metro station and you are free to go to all the tourist attractions. Although hotel is a bit old, the room is spacious and the view from room is stunning. The breakfast has different varieties of food and it is delicious. Also enjoy the breakfast area , spacious and comfortable. Will stay in this hotel again next time.

We celebrated a birthday in Pudong and picked Shangri-La as an impromptu destination. It was a Perfect location for leisure and nice dining. The staff was also kind enough to offer a complimentary birthday drink and fruit. The room had a Nice open view balanced between the city and the river. The Cozy bedding was good, too. The final visit to the jazz bar was really nice. The bar had THE VIEW, and the staff were very friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We enjoyed the stay. We Will definitely come back next time.

The hotel is very well located, very close to the metro station, with several dining options in the vicinity, which is very convenient. The staff is very friendly.
The facilities are fine, the room is very nice, very spacious, clean, and has good amenities. In addition, I was able to use the washing machines and gym for free without any problems. Breakfast is a buffet, varied, and has several options for Westerners as well.
Personally, what I didn't like is that all the time, when I left my room, I saw all the garbage and clutter from when they cleaned other rooms, which wasn't very nice. I show it in the photos. Also, the coffee and tea offered in the room were all expired. I noticed after trying one, and it tasted very bad.
In short, the hotel is fine for the price you pay; it would simply be better if those details were corrected.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Close to the metro station (≈7 min walk), plenty of restaurants around. You have a direct access to a Family Mart from the hotel. Staff was nice.
And the view from the room was breathtaking (floor 37).

Facilities were to the level that you would expect from a Hyatt Hotel.
Location ok with easy access to the subway station and the ferry terminal.
Adequate food options available in the area.
Con’s
The lift from ground floor to the reception on 54th floor. This lift doesn’t go higher so you need to exit the lift walk through the lobby and go to another bank of lifts to then travel to your room. Same for going down, two sets of lifts walk through the lobby to access the lift going to the ground floor.
I extended my initial one night stay to two additional nights so I went to reception and asked the staff member to update my room card otherwise it wouldn’t let me in the room. Explained to the staff member, she checked my new booking in the system, asked if I had already paid I answered yes it was paid via Trip. She then handed me the room cards back, I asked her again if the cards had been updated. She replied yes.
I went out for a few hours came back same scenario lift to lobby walk through find the other lift go to room. Key card doesn’t work, went down the lift walk to the lobby…….same girl Oh let me check with another person. Key cards handed back, walk to the lift go to my room and the door opens.
Wanted to enquire about sending a jacket back home via post, spoke with reception who called the concierge ground floor then advised me to go to the concierge at around 8am to discuss. I went to the concierge ground floor and was told postal service has a minimum fee of 500 yuan but they would check the cost and call my room. No call was made to my room.
On checking out there were room service charges that reception and I agreed would be deducted from the deposit and the balance returned by way of how it was paid. Apple Pay
I left Shanghai and continued my travel in China, I received a call from Trip advising me that Hyatt had contacted them regarding an unpaid room service bill. I explained above to the Trip Agent who reverted back to Hyatt. Trip Agent called me back and explained that Hyatt had inadvertently refunded the full amount without deducting the room S bill and they wanted payment. We agreed that Hyatt would contact me via email.
I checked my Apple Pay wallet and could see that the Hyatt had attempted twice to charge me the fee which was declined by Apple Pay as no point of sale authorisation was provided by me. I feel this was deceptive by Hyatt and not acceptable.
After returning home I received an email from Hyatt with payment options QR code, I checked that the initial deposit had been refunded before processing the payment.
The deceptive action by the Hyatt in trying to process charges without my knowledge or consent is not acceptable.

I enjoyed my spontaneous night stay at the Kempinski. I mainly went there to experience Le Petiti Chef, given to me as an early birthday present. The night stay was decided upon after our experience at LPC. However, the hotel is a bit dusty, especially on the floors with the rooms, as I just couldn’t stop sneezing being there. Shower slippers should be provided as the shower floor could do with a little more cleaning.
The finger foods during happy hour and afternoon tea were amazingly delicious but the breakfast food that requires going back to the drawing board. Huge disappointment, so much for being the most important meal of the day. I ordered eggs and pancakes off the menu and the scrambled eggs were very tasteless, it didn’t even taste like eggs. I think there was way too much watery milk in there, and the pancakes were literally two pan sized raspberry cakes. Nothing close to the texture or consistency of an actual pancake. And it was served with honey, where is the maple syrup or pancake syrup? The only good thing at breakfast for me was the latte and cappuccino.
And that welcome fruit platter, that needs to be worked upon, hardly a platter for starters and put more thought into the fruit because you guys had better fruits at the tea time and happy hour.
Overall, for the price of one night, more attention to detail is needed. Also this whole pre-authorised thing is stupid. It comes like you have to first fork out over 5600 plus just for your night stay. I have stayed at the J hotel and they don’t require this nonsense, if you need a higher deposit just say so.
The WiFi sucks and no matter how you turn the taps the water is hot. Turn it to cold it is hot, turn it to hot it is boiling hot. So, the water temperature goes from hot to hottest, not sure why that was the case in our room.
Anyways, on the plus side, the bed was comfy, the river view is beautiful and the few staff members I came across were very friendly and just about everyone spoke some level of English, which to me is a must when it’s an international hotel.

It was our anniversary. They upgraded us and even gave us a room number that means I love you in chinese (1520), honestly that was really sweet of them, even gave us a wine bottle as a gift. The staff is so friendly and kind. We delivered some items and they were delivered when we were out, they collected it and kept it safely with them at the lobby. Their food (we ordered it in our room) was amazing. One of the best stay I have ever had. Really recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Shanghai,

The day we arrived it was raining steadily. We just came in from the airport on the subway, and even though the hotel is close to the subway entrance the 1 block walk left us very wet. The staff was very kind and very helpful. Due to the situation with the weather, we wanted to get some of our travel clothes laundered. The staff very cheerfully complied, but also informed us that due to the weather many other guests were also laundering clothes and it would take more than a day for our washed clothes to be returned. We agreed, as we were there staying for 2 nights. We gave our clothes to be laundered to the front desk girls in a bag we collected as a souvenir from a previous city. When the laundry was returned to us the next day they switched out our souvenir bag for a generic plastic bag. We spoke with the front desk staff to have our souvenir bag returned to us, which they did.
They offered breakfast in the cost of the booking. The breakfast food was very good, again the staff very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and had excellent AC which we were able to adjust to our liking. They also offered complimentary sweet soup in the evening, which we took them up on, and the soup was very nice. And to add to the service, they offered foot basins, which were a welcome addition to two foot tired travelers, as a thing about visiting China a lot of walking is part of the experience.
Overall I would rate the hotel a 3.75/5. It's ideal for budget travelers that don't mind missing out on some luxury amenities, plus the location is excellent for exploring Shanghai as it is so close to a metro stop. And the staff go out of their way to be in service, which is always a welcome experience. Plus neither of us speak Mandarin, but most if not all of the staff have translation apps so speaking/communicating with the staff was easy.

FFong ChyenOrange Hotel is one of my favorite hotels when travelling to China.
This branch is near Line 6 - Pudian Rd Metro Station - exit 4. (Around 500m walking distance)
There are many restaurants and convenient stores around so the location is really good for tourist.
The hotel has some smoking smell and quite dusty as there are construction going on around.
Hope they do some thorough cleaning up after the summer holidays peak to keep the hotel squeaky clean again.

SSau FunThe location is excellent, only two minutes walk from the subway. It takes half an hour to take the subway from the hotel to People's Square, Nanjing Road, etc. But it is in the Minsheng District, there will not be a lot of tourists, and the community is relatively quiet
The cleanliness deserves five stars. The bathroom, pillows and quilts are very clean, which makes people feel at ease.
The front desk service is also satisfactory. Thanks to the lady who upgraded my room and the brother who gave me two more bottles of water!

AAnonymous UserMy stay at Ji Hotel was excellent overall. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable, and the service provided by the staff was friendly and efficient. The location was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and public transport.
The amenities were good, though there was minor room for improvement in terms of variety. Nonetheless, everything I needed was available and well-maintained.
As a solo traveler, I felt comfortable and safe throughout my stay. The hotel’s atmosphere was welcoming, and the value for money was outstanding.
I would definitely recommend Ji Hotel to others and would consider staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

AAiyahwateverI was allocated a room on the second floor. The common corridor looked rundown and carpet seemed dirty and uneven. There was also a slight stench of stale smoke. The room was a decent size and bed was comfortable. However, some surfaces were dusty (ie. rack under the pantry, side table). The cupboard was too high & hangers did not fit into the cupboard. The toilet light was very dim and my sink pipe leaked. The service staff was prompt in solving the leakage after I informed front desk. On the brighter side, my colleague was allocated a room on the 3rd floor which was new & beautifully renovated. I believe the good reviews for the rooms came from guests who were allocated rooms on the renovated third floor.
