Hotels in Huaihai Road Area/Xintiandi Area, Shanghai

The hotel was very comfortable to stay in. The bed and pillows were cozy, and the blackout curtains effectively blocked out light. The air conditioning was cool and adjustable. I stayed for a total of 6 nights. Although the hotel staff couldn’t speak English, they were kind and tried their best to communicate. Housekeeping cleaned the room every day. The bathroom was automatic, which was the main reason I chose this hotel. But everything else exceeded my expectations. Complimentary drinks like water, cola, and Sprite were unlimited. Popcorn, tea, and coffee were also provided for free. The hotel is small, with only 3 floors. There’s a projector, but it only displays content in Chinese, so I couldn’t understand it. The hotel is actually closer to Middle Huaihai Road Station than West Nanjing Station—both are within a relaxed walking distance, just about one traffic light away. Both stations are located in very walkable areas, with lots of cute shops and a calm vibe, unlike the busy pedestrian zone around East Nanjing Road. The area around the hotel becomes a nightlife spot in the evening, so there are lots of people around and it doesn’t feel deserted.

It was overall a great stay. The lobby is cozy, fragrant and dimly lit with soft yellow lighting. The room is not very big but there was enough space to move around comfortably. Love the shower with instant heating and water temperature digitally displayed and the hairdryer has good wind strength. The toilet seat is electronically kept warm and wash basin tap comes with hot water, which really made a difference during cold weather. Breakfast was simple but delicious, with variety enough for a nutritious start to the day. The noodles made by the robot was unexpectedly quite tasty. The complimentary late night porridge was also a warm touch to end the day for guests. There are books spread out throughout the public spaces for guests to borrow (all Chinese books though). The location is rather convenient, about 10-15min walk to 2 metro stations, Jing An Temple Station and Nanjing West Rd station, lots of eateries nearby and a few shopping malls like Kerry Centre are also within walking distance, plus the beautiful Jing An Temple of course. Special thanks to the kind staff named Weekend (Zhou Mo) who extended complimentary late check out till 4pm in view of my late flight.

The most comfortable hotel I stayed in when I was on a business trip in Shanghai. It is very close to the company. I saw the photos online and thought it was okay, so I booked it. It felt very good to stay here. The hotel is like a villa or a garden. There is a large yard where you can park your car. It is also very well isolated from the noise of the road and it is quite quiet; The room is very spacious. I like the washbasin very much. It is particularly bright and spacious. The toilet can be heated by itself, which is more comfortable when it is cold; I recommend you to try the breakfast. It is a very warm and stylish restaurant with rich dishes and very comfortable to eat! Overall, I am quite satisfied and will stay there again next time I go on a business trip!

We had very nice staying experience there n especially served well by hotel manager Frankie . His hospitality was great n helped us in booking our car trip n even our restaurant booking. Will definitely come back again . Another plus about this was were served with complimentary warm wanton soup everyday .

The location is really excellent if you want to be close to the nightlife of the Huangpu area. The hotel is excellent value for money and quiet despite the location. Very friendly staff.

After the Mariah Carey concert, myself and my friend booked a room at the Howard Johnson. We got upgraded to the 16th floor which was fantastic because this floor has Nescafé Espresso coffee machines. We loved this spacious room, copious bottles of water and the l’occitane toiletries. Thanks to Maggie for help with our food delivery! It’s a home away from home and I will never falter to book again.

Hotel is fresh, beautiful and trendy.  The breakfast has both western and eastern cuisine represented and everything tasted good.  The room is modern with luxurious finishes.  Automatic curtains, bedside lighting controls made added to the comfort.  The bed, although firm, was comfortable and we slept well.  We did hear a lot of water noise coming from either the floor above or from the pipes.  We would definitely stay here again, or at another Atour hotel based on this stay, the staff was friendly and warm.

A nice cozy hotel in the heart of Huangpu, Shanghai. . Close proximity to Dashijie metro station. Room is comfy. A bit smaller than I'm used too but I'm not complaining. It has everything you'll need. Table with wireless charging provided too. Huge TV in the room 😁. Food at breakfast is yummy. My favourite the yogurt snack bar, scallion oil noodles 👍👍👍 and lastly the waffles. They also have a coffee and drinks bar at the lobby. what I find interesting is that they also serve evening snack from 9.30pm to 11pm we tried it on our second night 😋😋😋. They also have self laundry area which is very handy if u need to wash clothes. Last but not least staff really helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again when I come back to Shanghai ❤️

This was a strange experience as the reception was above shops in the 7th floor. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast outstanding. It catered for all nationalities and was a nice hotel. We had some problems with the air conditioning doing what ever it wanted. We were cold then hot and it was frustrating. I think it was centrally controlled. The other problem was that the room we had backed in to the laundry area, so in the middle of the night, when the washing machines were spinning it wasn’t great. Suffering from jet lag and then this was a bit off putting. But generally very nice hotel. I would recommend

The room is large and spacious. The electric curtains and smart toilet are very modern. There is also a coffee machine in the room. The two lockers are particularly large and can hold several pieces of luggage. The bedding and toiletries are very good. Breakfast was at the KFC downstairs. The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance of many celebrity residences and check-in spots. It is about half an hour’s taxi ride from Shanghai Station and Hongqiao Station, and about 15 minutes’ walk from the subway. The restaurant in the hotel has business set menu and mushroom chicken set menu, which is very convenient. The downside is that the toilet cannot be flushed cleanly in one flush and there is water leakage under the wash basin. During the stay, I wanted to add a quilt and was initially told to pay 250 yuan. Later, after asking for instructions, they asked for 100 yuan for cleaning fee but ultimately did not add any. The service attitude is very good and we checked in early. The public space of the hotel is very large, there are few people and it is quiet in a busy place.
