Shanghai Jing'an District Hotels

Quite disappointed for their inconsistent service standard. Came back few days later due to some changes made to my itinerary. The room assigned to me (an upgraded room that i didnt ask for) has this light issue where it will 'blink' from time to time and seems like they know about it but didnt go and fix it. Nevertheless, they assist to change my room to mid floor. At night, i could hear weird noises (some ppl gagging?) next door the whole night. Next, during midnight, i went down to seek help to call the airline to settle some flight issues. The recep on duty were unprofessional and reluctant to help, they only responded and say they are unable to make international phone calls and thats it?! I do understand they are not oblige to help. But, the way of them handling this was just unacceptable. 一点人情味都没有

The hotel room is large and the beds are confortable. The only issue I had was that our room smelled of cigarette smoke when we got back and I asked the front desk to let us change rooms. Initially, they wanted us to sleep in the room for the night and change tomorrow. I insisted that we cannot sleep with the smell of cigarette smoke as we are alresdy having headache with the smell. That is when they told us that we can transfer to another room. Just a little disappointed with the service that they were not proactive to let us change rooms or get rid of the smell. The location has a great view of the river, but a little walk from the train station. They have free water bottles that you can request and the robot will come up to your door to deliver. Sometimes, the AI will not understand you and will just be quiet. So hopefully, this will improve and AI will respond that it does not understand instead of just giving the silent treatment. They also have free candies, teas, and amenity kits like comb, toothbrush, toothpaste etc. which you can freely get from the lobby. They also have vendo machines for drinks, instant noodles and some table games at the ground floor.

We stayed at this hotel for several times already.  Location is perfect, close to several malls. Size of the room is just right, with comfortable bed and bathroom, with pillow menu to choose from.  There is also a Nespreso machine which I like it too.  Service is perfect, our requests were all granted.  We had dinner at the second floor of the hotel, the bbq dinner and it was great.  We will stay again at this hotel when I go back to Shanghai.

Excellent hotel near the professional district of Jingan. The room is filled with nice touches, big comfortable bed, one of the biggest TVs I have ever seen, and the shower and toilet are completely separate. Very modern feeling, with a spacious lobby and some of the friendliest employees I have ever encountered in China. There are rentable bicycles just on the street. This place has some with the loudest slamming doors I have ever heard. In the middle of night and early in the morning there are small explosions jolting you awake. The boss seriously needs to install some silencers or gel padding to fix this issue

The hotel is not so far from Red line (Shanghai Railway Station) Exit 1 is easier for you to walk to the hotel. Otherwise you will have to walk sooooo long... (i did that on day 1 of my trip because map doesn't really work well and in fact i almost cancelled it and book a new hotel lol) It is clean, daily cleaning and super cheap i could stay here for weeks & it is not so far from all touristy places. Some are 5 stops away and some are like 3 stops away. I don't really mind.  **requested a non smoking room and i got a non smoking room, much appreciated**

The hotel upgraded our room to executive and it comes with dinner at their Chinese restaurant. However, we were unable to make it for dinner and they offered to change it to lunch. They sent our luggage up to the room while we enjoyed the lunch. Their services are excellent and they have a counter for parcel collection on behalf of the guest. Even if the parcel arrived earlier than the day we checked into the hotel, they will receive it on behalf based on the guest name. Excellent services! The bed is big and comfortable.

Been here at least three times already. It’s a nice boutique hotel, hidden in a courtyard and located very conveniently, just a 10 min. walk from Jing’An temple subway station and in walking distance to many sights, restaurants & bars. Spacious room with cozy sofa corner and stylish bathroom. Only disadvantage: the mattress is a bit hard for my taste.

The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile and ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Another huge plus was the location – very convenient and well connected, making it easy to explore the city while having a calm, luxurious retreat to return to at the end of the day. I’ll absolutely be referring this hotel to many friends and would happily return myself. If you’re looking for a high-end stay in Shanghai that blends beauty, comfort, and service, this hotel is a perfect choice.

Hotel is convenient but there are using air centralise system which I not preferable. I wish to shut all window due to vehicle noise at night but the air system was running in warm mode I am sweat during my stay. 🥵. The toilet is transparent glass.... If you are not couple better.... 😏.. Washing machine is not free. If you have large and heavy lagguage the metro station does not have lift or elevator. So you need to bring down towards the stair. 😔.

My stay at Portman Ritz Carlton was good. The location is perfect, very close to everything. Also, I was able to check in earlier than the usually time which I loved. On a bad note, the outside pool bar isn’t open which is a bummer as I would have loved to enjoy a cocktail by the pool while relaxing. Nevertheless, it was perfect stay and I would stay again in the future. 😎
