Jinglai Hotel Light Luxury (Shanghai Bund Joy City Branch)

Hotel staff initially promised to let me checkin hotel at 10am and will call me when its ready, but i never received any calls. After 10am, the staffs changed shift, i told them about my situation, but they said i could only checkin after 2pm...Fine, again they said they will call when my room is ready, but again no one called! i came back to hotel around 1pm to wait, but i saw a few groups managed to checkin in front of my eyes, i then realized that i could checkin already...what an experience....will never stay there ever again thats for sure! Also, there's side window in the room which has no curtains at all, though the other buildings were far away, but basically anyone can see through that window from far (by using binoculars or high end phones) at any time throughout the stay, even if ppl bare body.....ridiculous!

The only amazing thing about this place was its location. Right next to a very good breakfast place and a nice mall. The room itself while we knew it would have no window, it had a window facing a hallway that had other rooms windows and the screen you could pull down was only good to block out the light from the hallway. I would just have preferred a normal wall instead of a creepy window. Besides that the room was extremely dark and made it difficult to find things or do any kind of work. There was also mold in the bathroom and all over the shower curtain. The bed had a comforter on top of a very dirty mattress that looked like it was never cleaned. The biggest issue was the air conditioning which decided to shut off in the middle of one of the nights that we were there and the room became very hot. This happened at 5 in the morning and the staff was unhelpful in resolving the issue as they told us that it will be fine during the day. Overall this was just a place to sleep. I’d recommend somewhere else if you care about cleanliness or being able to see things in your room.

Everything clean and nice. I had 3 nights at here. Staff friendly, useful. I got a free breakfast although before that not included on booking, appreciative. Good location, near by Metro (250m). Shanghai so beautiful ♥️

The place is very good, comfortable and has a good location. Some employees doesn’t speak English and becomes a little bit difficult. I ask for glasses for wine and they don’t have, the breakfast is tradicional Chinese with many delicious food but I think maybe they can put something different for foreign people. Also there is different places to make pictures in this hotel, everything is clean and organized!

Amazing location in amazing city. Good price, ergonomic room, for a lonely traveller it’s perfect!😍

The hotel is near a shoppingmall and metro. The staff is very helpful when I need a farmacy and booking a taxi to the airport. The only thing (generaal die China); Although its smoking free hotel, you will smell it in the corridor. I would stay there again.

First time staying here but well, the hotel amneties and food is better than I have anticipated. Juz have to improve the signage to the hotel and well, could not have asked for more at such rate. Great hotel and highly recommended.

Not as good as CitiGo in Beijing but it’s okay. (Hotel was named citigo before) Had some trouble with air conditioner so I got a new room. New room was smaller so a got a bigger one. This one smelled very badly. Stuff is friendly but hotel not in best condition.
