great location, about half an hour walk for most popular attractions (or take metro). many food vendors (street, restaurant) and shopping around as well. the metro station is just around the corner.
we were pleasantly surprised by the kid amenities in the room. there were kids decorations as well as kids books. the size was also comfortable. surfaces are very clean as well.
one downside is you have to take 2 elevators to get to the entrance but that was not really an issue with us.

The location of the hotel is great - metro station Dashijie around the corner and 15-20 minutes walk from the Waitan street. The hotel has an unique a**osphere of an old beautiful historical building. The rooms are spacy and very clean, fully equiped ( there is even an iron and ironing desk in each room). We would especially like to thank the staff at the reception, which spoke with us in excellent English and helped to solve a problem with refund of money for renting a power bank in one of the street cafes.

My family 2 adult, 2 kids spent 4 nights at this hotel. The location is excellent. It is 20m from Dashijie station, easy for Didi to park, near plaza to find restaurant although not much like nanjinlu. The hotel is worth the price.
The hotel upgraded my room to the biggest room in hotel. Also, they offe additional bed for kid. I appreciated their help and excellent services.

Very happy to book this hotel for my one day stay in Shanghai. Great location, excellent customer service, clean room and comfortable bed. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Despite visiting the hotel during CNY, I found the staff to be very accommodating and helpful.

I love the deco and ambience of the 30s, a huge former YMCA Building. Thick carpet, good size room. Friendly receptionists that speak English.
Room is clean, though amenities are a bit lacking. No toothbrush and so on. Good sound proofing. Their is rainshower but hand shower head is not great.
It's 8 min walk from the Shanghai Museum, and a few small shopping malls at the opposite side of the road. Nanjing Street is 15 min walk away.
Breakfast is disappointing. Very limited options for such a hotel and at that room rate. Coffee is not freshly brewed. The restaurant has just 8 tables.
