Campanile Shanghai Huaihai Hotel

Found the hotel really convenient location wise & the staff is also very friendly and helpful. Opted for the breakfast option, which was taste wise good, however not too much variety in breakfast. Rooms have their own character and liked the layout and interiors for the room.

Awkward transfer at Nanjing West Road aside, this hotel’s location is a pleasant contrast to Nanjing Road and highly favors trips to Jing’an and the French Concession. It’s a much more peaceful neighborhood to stay in, and has a lot of conveniences for food and shopping. KFC is right next to the hotel if you don’t avail of their breakfast. The staff is also very attentive + the rooms are decent apart from the cigarette smell that we initially had. We opened the windows to let it out and we never smelled it again. Bathroom is better than some higher starred hotels although they do not have a bidet. They also give out a Biscoff cookie everyday.

Very good location, easy to reach, 5-7 min walking from 2 different metro stations that give you a lot of options for exploring the city and connections to both airports. (I arrived at Hongqiao and left from Pudong and it was easy to use the metro to go to and from Campanile) Many options for food and drinks as well (caffes, bars) around. The room was clean and quiet. Very satisfied with my stay here!

The greatest possible location right in the middle of Huaihai Middle road, with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby, two subway stations in the walking distance. The room is rather small but cosy. They were doing the renovation in the time we were staying and hadn’t inform us beforehand, so it was a bit noisy. It was very hot and stuffy inside the room. Please note that there is a laundry room but it is paid and you only can pay by WeChat, around 15-17 rmb for wash and dry each. It is very inconvenient that you could only use an elevator by swapping your room key, with the two options only: the floor where you room is and the ground floor, so you’ll need to go up and down the stairs to the 2d floor if you need to use the laundry room. Besides, there is no robot waimai service and you need to take all your waimai yourself on the ground floor.
