Anting Villa Hotel is not a modern monolith of a hotel... but an elegant return to the past. I truly enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable and the staff was friendly. Metro line 1 is an extremely short walk away making travel around the city fairly easy. Unfortunately, between the May Day holiday and construction on the other buildings, the gym was closed and the hotel restaurant was only working the breakfast service. Speaking of, the breakfast service was delightful. There were plenty of options for those with both local and Western tastes.

Very nice high standard hotel. The staff is very professional. We appreciated the calm surroundings. The metro station is close, it is easy to visit the Bund or to reach the airports and the railway stations.

I loved this location and the room was fantastic. Staying in this part of town was quite peaceful and the subway was just a short 5 minute walk. I wish for the price I paid it included breakfast. Also I stayed here for the gym, but the gym needs to be updated and should open earlier than 9am

This is by far my favorite hotel in Shanghai. Located in the heart of the city yet nestled within a beautiful park, waking up here each morning feels like an incredible luxury—peace and serenity right in the middle of the urban hustle.
The hotel exudes history and elegance. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a classic style, warm and refined. Every detail reflects a sense of timeless charm.
I would especially like to praise Ms. Huang Caifeng at the front desk. From the very first day of my stay, she was always helpful, professional, and genuinely kind. Her warm smile and proactive approach made me feel truly welcome. She goes above and beyond to ensure that guests are cared for. Having someone like her on the team is what truly elevates a stay from good to unforgettable.
Exceptional service, perfect location, elegant atmosphere—highly recommended to anyone seeking a top-tier experience in Shanghai.

Whenever I’m in Shanghai, I always stay at the Anting Villa. It has that classic charm that reflects the colonial-era character of the French Concession—elegant, a bit old-fashioned compared to sleek modern hotels, but that’s part of what makes it special. The service is consistently helpful, always ready to assist with anything you need. The location is unbeatable: just a short walk to the metro and surrounded by great bars and cafes. Special shout-out to Union Trading Company nearby—amazing cocktails and excellent service. Can’t recommend the area or the hotel enough.

great location in the French Quarter -- on a nice quiet street. nice grounds. Remodeling is a completely separate building, so did not disturb the main building. nice grass and nice grounds. Rare for this location.
