My stay at Portman Ritz Carlton was good. The location is perfect, very close to everything. Also, I was able to check in earlier than the usually time which I loved. On a bad note, the outside pool bar isn’t open which is a bummer as I would have loved to enjoy a cocktail by the pool while relaxing. Nevertheless, it was perfect stay and I would stay again in the future. 😎

Service was amazing, staff was professional and well-trained. The entire building is a bit on the older side, but all the decor and furnitures are well-maintained. Soundproofing was overall decent, though you can hear nearby door opening and shutting. No street noise though. There are two pools in the building. Would recommend the outdoor as the indoor one can get pretty busy as soon as they open.
Downsides: there’s a lot of gunk/buildup on the shower faucet. My bathtub switcher was also leaking, and maintenance couldn’t do anything about it — they said it would take a while to fix, and would do it after I leave.

It was our first time in Shanghai and in The Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai. We had an amazing experience and wonderful time. The hotel location is in the heart of Shanghai, not too far from main attractions and at the same time the area is not overcrowded with tourists. The hotel staff is super friendly, helpful and polite! We had great time at the Club lounge, which was just simply amazing!

I spent a relaxing 5 days at this hotel. It’s where I usually stay when I visit Shanghai. As usual, the customer service is impeccable. I always book a room that includes Club Lounge access since it’s so convenient to have my meals there. All the staff at the lounge are lovely and attentive. I requested a late check out with ease and did lots of shopping in the nearby malls. I also visited a great nail salon next to the Starbucks nearby, Sunshine Nails. I also visited In House hair salon, in case you need hair and nail recommendations close to the hotel. Overall, I had a wonderful time at The Portman Ritz-Carlton as always. I will definitely be back.

Property is in a location for shopping and visiting the U.S. visa center. Carpet in the room is dated but everything else is quality and comfortable
