IFOREST S Hotel

This is our second time staying here. Safe to say we had another good stay! And we well definitely come back next time we visit downtown Shanghai.

Everything was fine, perfect location, but it was smoked room and weak internet

The hotel is located within an old commercial building with no proper lobby on ground floor. You would not know that the hotel exist unless the building security direct you to second floor. Room 8205 has a very strong sewage smell throughout and it was unbearable to stay for even a min. I told the problem to the counter and they said there is no other available room of the same type and the only option was to pay the difference for a bigger room which is the only available type. No compassion given based on customer perspective and it wasn’t the guest problem to begin with. If you don’t mind having rest and sleep interrupted by noises outside , go for it. Otherwise rooms have extremely poor sound insulation. People are going in and out of room very frequently even at late night time. I wonder? Location was alright with just a min walk to the Huangpu river and a ferry terminal to commute to the bund opp. It’s quite a walk to the nearest metro station (15-20mins walk) and the pavement are not luggage friendly along the route. Uneven surfaces throughout and got to tug luggage on overhead bridges. If you are mostly travelling by didi/taxi then it’s alright. There is a nice French bakery cafe nearby for a good morning breakfast before you begin your day. Overall, I would definitely NOT stay here again and would rather pay more for a more quality hotel for a well deserved rest, even though this hotel is not cheap to begin with.
