Soho Garden Villa Hotel (Shanghai Jiaotong University Metro Station Flagship)

The location and overall ambiance were absolutely fantastic. The front desk staff were also incredibly attentive. It's a quintessential old Shanghai villa, full of charm and character, and I managed to snap a lot of beautiful photos. What's more, it's just a stone's throw away from Wukang Building!

The location is excellent – a quiet spot amidst the bustling city. Jiaotong University is a short walk to the left, and Wukang Building is to the right. Nanjing Road and other major attractions are also easily accessible by subway. The young man at the front desk was incredibly thoughtful; he upgraded our room when he saw we had a child. The hotel itself is nestled within a beautiful old Shanghai building, and its interiors are charmingly decorated in a British style, making it a popular choice even among international visitors. Our room was spotless, and we appreciated the complimentary fruit, drinks, coffee, and a full toiletry kit. A delightful highlight was the pervasive white tea aroma throughout the premises. The healthy breakfast was also excellent. On our departure day, they kindly offered free luggage storage and even gave us a thoughtful parting gift.

Choosing this hotel was a fantastic decision! It's housed in a beautiful century-old building with an elegant, vintage charm. The location is superb; you can step right out and wander through some of Shanghai's most picturesque streets. While the room wasn't huge, it was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, well-appointed, and the attention to detail was impressive. The service from the staff was impeccable, and the breakfast was nutritious, with particularly delicious noodles! Both the overall experience and the value for money were outstanding. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai!

The location is excellent, and the garden villa setting is quite charming. There's a quaint cafe and a villa-style restaurant right at the entrance, giving off a very vintage vibe. It seemed like a popular spot for young women to take photos. However, perhaps due to it being an older property, our room had a distinct musty smell. The room was small; if you're traveling with a lot of luggage, I'd highly recommend booking a larger room type, as there wasn't even enough space to properly open our suitcases. The bedside table and walls showed visible signs of mold, which was extremely uncomfortable. I strongly suggest the management addresses this issue. Regarding service: We arrived past 9 PM and couldn't find parking. We called the front desk, and a staff member came out. But after watching us park, she simply vanished, leaving us to search for the reception for quite some time. We were expecting complimentary welcome drinks or restaurant vouchers, but neither was offered nor even mentioned. They didn't even tell us when or where breakfast was served 🥲😂. Breakfast was also very basic. While it was enough to fill us up, it wasn't anything special.

The location is fantastic, very close to Wukang Building and Anfu Road. The hotel's restaurant also serves excellent food. It's a charming, historic villa that thoughtfully combines traditional aesthetics with modern amenities, offering a tranquil retreat in the heart of the city's buzz.

This place offers a peaceful retreat amidst the city's hustle and bustle; I was even woken up by birdsong in the morning. It's a charming old villa with an on-site cafe that's popular with young people for its Instagrammable spots. The breakfast, though simple, was fresh and clean, and the noodles and wontons prepared by the staff were absolutely delicious.
