Apart from damage caused by aging (nothing that would affect the use of the building), the hotel was very well-cleaned and seemed cleaner than Japanese business hotels.
Cleaning was done every day during my stay (5 nights), and four bottles of water, one each of coffee and tea, towels changed, and the beds were made.
The free-use washer/dryer was very helpful, as I could leave it with the front desk staff and pick it up after it was done.
In addition to the subway, there is also a bus and ferry, so transportation is quite convenient.
The elevators in the building are a little slow, so be careful if you are in a hurry.
It was cold in March, but the room temperature, which I was worried about, was not a problem.
The shower was also comfortable.
The bed was comfortable and I slept well every day.
There are two shopping malls nearby and plenty of places to eat.
Good access to Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport/Train Station.
Overall I am very satisfied, but I was a little disappointed that the front desk staff asked me to write this review on their behalf after I checked out (to get a good rating). I don't think they meant any harm, but I was planning to leave a good review myself, so I'd like to leave it to the person in question to provide a useful reference for others in the future.
Other than that, it's a great hotel that I would highly recommend.
