Avoid: Shanghai International Studies University Guest House A very disappointing stay. I booked a room in advance on Ctrip and went to Shanghai International Studies University Guest House to check in at 5 pm last Saturday. Considering that my family would arrive later, I specifically confirmed at the front desk whether my family could check in with their electronic ID cards. At that time, the two staff members at the front desk clearly stated "yes". However, when my family arrived in the evening, they met the man surnamed Liu in the picture. His attitude was extremely indifferent. After my family reported my name, there was no response at all. The electronic ID card was also rejected, and he even said that he would "handle it at the police station". My family always maintained patient communication throughout the process, but the other party not only had no service awareness, but was even unwilling to further explain or assist. As a hotel affiliated with a university, it should have reflected basic professionalism and humanistic care. This inconsistent and indifferent service experience seriously affected our itinerary. I hope the hotel can face up to the problems of management and service and improve the professional training and communication literacy of the front desk staff. Also, when I checked out, I complained to the person in charge. Another person at the front desk said that the person in charge was not there and would record the problem and call back. Until today, I have not received any feedback!

The price and environment are very good. It would be even better if the facilities can be improved. The main point is that there are no plastic slippers for bathing in the bathroom and the floor is quite slippery!
