The only real positive about this hotel is its location — close to the Yuyuan Garden and just steps from the Laoximen subway station. Unfortunately, everything else was well below standard. Check-in was easy enough, and while staff were friendly enough, they didn’t speak English, but they used a translation app efficiently. The queen business room was extremely small and poorly designed. The toilet and shower area is cramped, and even with the pull-close doors, water soaked the entire space after a shower. Hot water caused the pressure to drop significantly. The sink is awkwardly placed in the bedroom, and the toilet constantly made water-running noises. The room was equipped with some basic amenities (shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, hairdryer), and the bed and pillows were comfortable. However, housekeeping only replaced towels and water bottles abd emptied the bins once during my four-night stay — no bed-making, no linen change, and no evidence that any surfaces were wiped or cleaned. Shared areas were filthy — stained carpet, visible dust, items shoved under communal lounges, and one washing machine leaking water onto the floor. The “gym” consisted of a small treadmill and bike both covered in dust. Breakfast was sparse: pre-packaged noodles, yoghurt, tiny packaged cakes, two types of cut fruit, and a few bits of basic Asian fare hot food. In summary, this hotel needs a serious deep clean and far better maintenance. Despite the great location, it’s just not worth it. I would not recommend staying here.

It was a good hotel. It was difficult to find the entrance at night. It has the logo of hotel but it was on the second floor of a dental clinic and we should pass the entrance of the clinic to get the elevator to the hotel. The space of the WC was too small but it was clean. The breakfast was basic not special. Totally the hotel was clean, comfortable, in a good place and access to public transportation.

WORST SOUND INSULATION OF ALL TIMES. Soundproofing does not exist, because the rooms are probably partitioned off with plastic or card board. When someone next door turns on their TV or showers, it feels like it’s in your own room or indeed above your head if you’re sleeping in bed, to the extent that it is just SCARY. Not to mention every sound that comes from the corridor and breakfast place: it is not possible to sleep until every living being in the “hotel” is asleep and before it occurs to any random person to just wake up and make any random noise at 6 or 7 in the morning. I basically stayed awake the whole night. Room is extremely small and peculiarly designed. It is not possible to fully open a carry-on size suitcase while having place to stand, and I’m saying this as a solo traveller. No space for nightstand, obviously. Dirty floor, no slippers provided. Around 9am the breakfast dishes are already cold and running out, and of course no one cares to reheat or refill them. I seldom write long negative review but this place certainly deserves it and the fellow travellers need to see it. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I’m sure the price is attractive (which tricked me into booking it and turns out to be a huge mistake that made me feel so bad even just after one night’s stay), but I’m also sure there are plenty of better options out there even at this price.

Terrible experience for the price… we stayed in the duplex and it was quite uncomfortable. The shower had a leak and all the floor downstairs was dump. They said they will fix it but the next day it got worst. Not recommended at all… cleanliness was also not very good. We stayed in different hotels in China and this was the worst, and also more expensive..

Hotel location super good. Just beside the train station. We no need to carry the big luggage walk too much. Hotel overall abit small, but is a very reasonable price at shanghai. 24hr free coffee is a highlight

I booked the largest room, but it still felt too cramped to comfortably fit three large suitcases and one small one. We were only able to manage after asking to have the chairs removed—thankfully, the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The bathroom is quite small as well, with no place to hang clothes or towels. That said, the location is very strategic and convenient—just a 2-minute walk to Laoximen Station. Would I return? Probably, but only if I’m traveling with less luggage.

Near metro station Comfy beds Basic amenities included Helpful staff even they cannot speak fluent English same entrance with a dentist clinic Only one person for breakfast per night per room provided (a little bit unusual) Relatively small room Unique design for bathroom and toilet ( same door so if you close the bathroom, the toilet will open) We experienced blackout for a few minutes during our stay We didn't receive bottled water and slippers on the first day Okay overall.
