Atour Hotel Jing'an Temple Nanjing West Road, Shanghai

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in China. We were on the top floor so had great views. You can control the lights with central switches next to the bed. The shower displays the current temperature. They also did our laundry for us, all we had to do was fill out a small docket and leave our laundry bags in the laundry room.

Excellent service! Hotel is clean and location is not bad. Need to walk a bit to Jing An MRT station. There are washing machines and dryers at the lobby where you can wash your clothing. Gym is very small - one elliptical machine and one tread mill. Complimentary porridge for supper from 9.30pm to 11pm. External amenities: Luckin coffee, Manner coffee, Family mart near hotel

This was one of the most enjoyable stays I’ve had thus far. The service was impeccable, staff go out of their way to assist you. Amenities were great - there’s everything to need in the room. There’s also free diy laundry services with staff to help if needed. We absolutely loved the breakfast and porridge supper. Very hearty and delicious. Highly recommend! Would stay here again if I’m back in Shanghai

As international (non-Chinese speaking) tourists, we were not sure what to expect staying a bit further away from the touristy area around The Bund, but we found this hotel and location to be excellent. Firstly, the buffet breakfast is 1000% worth it: there is a big variety of western and Asian food options, and all of it was delicious (we consumed both a lot of croissants and teriyaki chicken). It was a lifesaver not having to worry about finding food every morning with a packed itinerary. The staff had decent English skills, and translation apps took care of anything more complex. Being a new hotel, we didn't smell any smoke at all (which I've heard is a problem in some of the older 5-star hotels in The Bund). The room was pristine and modern, with smart-home style features. The complimentary laundry service was also fantastic: you simply load your clothes into the washer on the 1st floor, and the staff take care of drying it and return it folded in a bag at your room door. We had to check-out early to catch a flight on our last day, so they made sure our clothes were done before our check-out time. As an aside, though we didn't make use of it, you can get food delivered to the hotel (via an app like *******), and a robot will bring it to your room - that robot was so adorable and I was delighted every time it got in the lift with us. For location, the overall area felt very clean and safe. The hotel is right next to a trolleybus (tram) station that goes directly to The Bund + Nanjing Pedestrian Road area (about 20 minutes away). The Jing'an Temple mall and subway station is a 5-minute walk away and connects to everything. I recommend using Amap for navigating the public transport. For longer distances, we used the DiDi miniapp within Alipay with no issues. Don't underestimate peak-hour traffic though - sometimes DiDi trips took longer than estimated due to congestion on the highways through Jing'an district. Overall, we were easily able to get to all the big tourist destinations. In summary, this hotel helped make our first trip to China an enjoyable one! I couldn't find any faults in the presentation, service, or facilities of the hotel. 感谢您的盛情款待!

It’s a wonderful hotel. I love how clean and modern the room is. I love how the lights and curtains can be controlled right from the bedside. Service was good, but there are no English speakers so the translate app leaves a little bit to be desired. On the day I was leaving, I was trying to ask how to use the WeChat transit app to book a car share to the airport. The guy at the counter just called a taxi and said to use the meter. So I ended up paying 300 yuan to go to the airport when originally the app was saying it would cost as little as 160 so that was not ideal. 

Decent room space, new and clean room, friendly staff, value for money.
