The hotel is very new and reminds me of Aman in Japan that highlights a spa focus. It feels very zen and peaceful. The concierge, Gloria, was very helpful and attentive to all my asks. The spa is a must try

We stayed at Alila Shanghai in two rooms and honestly had such a great time. The hotel is brand new, beautifully designed, and in an amazing location, just a few steps from Taikoo Hui. Everything felt so well thought out: the rooms were spotless, the complimentary minibar (with soft drinks, juices, beer, nuts, tea and coffee), and there were little details everywhere that made the stay feel special. In the evening there were complimentary cocktails and snacks at Chayan, which we really enjoyed, and the turndown service came with thoughtful extras like pillow spray, an eye mask, ear plugs, and even a tea set gift, which made us feel really cared for. We also joined the gong meditation session, which turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip, so calming and unique. Breakfast was excellent, with a mix of curated à la carte dishes, pastries, and small bites being passed around. What made the stay even more memorable was the staff. Joy took care of us from the moment we checked in until the moment we left, always with genuine warmth. Jason was super helpful with our luggage and even handled our Taobao deliveries, making sure everything went smoothly for our departure. Henry helped us with check-out and was just as kind and attentive. Honestly, every staff member we met was friendly and made us feel at home. Overall, Alila Shanghai feels like a peaceful oasis in the middle of lively Shanghai. We left feeling refreshed and already know we’ll be coming back.
