Definitely Not a 2 star. Beds were uncomfortable, and wifi didn’t work in the rooms. Pretty bad showers too. Beautiful balcony though. Biggest down was confirming at check in that we pre-purchased breakfast. The answer was yes. So, a We chose to have breakfast at the underwhelming restaurant amid many amazing ones, we we served bread, ham, yogurt and honey with a small coffee and juice each. No fruit, nor eggs. And then we’re charged 8€ and told that we knew the breakfast wasn’t included. Not a huge deal, but a disappointment nonetheless the less. Wouldn’t stay here again unless there was no vacancy elsewhere. Not horrible, but def not good.

Bloody awful and expensive. 9euros for a tzatziki and water. No care to give a detail of the bill. No care to provide explanation on the prices and no bother to speak English. While I was waiting someone returned a key because their room was not clean. Bad!

We spent two night at the Hotel, we were a couple with two children and we enjoyed a fantastic terrace with an unique view on the Loutro bay and the sea, you have the opportunity to wake up surrounded by sun and in the night you can appreciate a sky with countless stars. Yes the room is very basic, but still is very romantic with the wooden ceiling. The personal of the hotel is friendly and helpful and make you immediately feel at ease. We also had a dinner at the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. The hotel for us was really a winning choice in spending some time in Loutro.

Beautiful seaview but the room was dirty: the bathroom has been not cleaned (the sink was full of spatters of toothpaste) and the toilet was broken. In the bedside table, on the sofa and on the floor I found hair. The pillows were uncomfortable. There were too many stairs to reach the room. Terrace was not cured. We are very sorry to leave this bad review but we paid 60 € for not having proper service. We hope our complaints will help you improve.

I made a booking in advance, saying that I’d return the following day. A helpful young man took my booking and my money, watched over by an older man I assumed to be the owner, who seemed only interested in the latter. I explained that I’d stay one or two nights and, seeing the hesitancy of the older man, I said to him that I’d pay for two but it might only be one, in which case he could pay me back. The older man’s face lit up. Arriving the next day the promised Wifi didn’t work, the bathroom stank and had no glass in its window, the towels were like a cross between cardboard and sandpaper and the the fridge sounded like a tractor. I mentioned this to the older man and he just shrugged his shoulders and carried on counting his money. The next morning I said that I was only staying for one night and he did the same again, looking away. The younger man asked me if I wanted my money back, to which I said ‘yes’, and he explained this to the older man who just continued staring into space like he hadn’t heard until eventually coming up with the lame excuse that he’d turned two people away because of me. This was quite simply untrue because several rooms were empty and he could have accommodated them in any one of those. He was just being unkind, the money being his only concern. Eventually, he gave me €15, less than half of the money that I’d paid and there was absolutely nothing I could do. I’ve visited South West Crete on multiple occasion over many years and have been overcome by the kindness that I’ve been shown by the people, with this one self-serving, self-interested man being the one and only exception. He’s not to be trusted and if the room that I had is anything like the rest, you’d do well to avoid the Madderes. He and his grubby attitude gives the Cretan people a reputation they don’t deserve. Shame on him.

We had booked 2 rooms some time ago with the note that we want to be close and they promised us that. When we went one had been given. After...consultations the couple went to the hotel next door. Other than that, with the exception of the view, nothing very good. Over 50 steps, average cleanliness, musty smell and one of the rooms had a remote control, but no TV. Finally, it was the only part of the beach that, strangely enough, smelled like bad fish from its restaurant.

Is this really a hotel? Spacious and clean room. Comfortable bedding. Shared terrace with the view 😎🤩 so beautiful. No attention in the room: no kettle… no cleaning in 3 nights. The restaurant is good and nice. The 2 young waiters were really friendly and warm. On the other hand, I confirm the old man at the checkout is particularly unpleasant. I had to pay the evening before my departure!

Dirty, problematic plumbing, clogged shower drain, mold, dirty towels, small rooms of 80 not renovated, 55 E for a room that was not worth even for 10! dirty terrace, bad in general! Do not prefer it!

At first sight the room looks clean and tidy but in reality this was not the case! The towels had stains on them, the toilet smelled really bad, the taps were full of salt as if they had never been cleaned and the sanitary ware was battered and broken! The glasses they had for us were all dirty and the closet had a broken shelf hanging from it! In no way were they worth the 75 euros we paid for one night! even if it were the last choice, I would not choose this hotel again!!!!!! (It doesn't have an elevator and we stayed on the third floor!)
