This is the third or fourth time we have visited this hotel, always our first choice in Sevilla. The rooms and all the decor is beautiful, really calming and characterful, reflecting the great and complex marriage of North African and European Cultures that Al Andalus celebrated at its best. Easy walks to great local restaurants (esp ConTenedor) and a half hour stroll to the Cathedral, with the spectacular Basilica de la Carmen right next door to the hotel also. The staff are quite exceptionally helpful, nothing too much trouble, booked restaurants for us very helpful and answered loads of questions. English good if you don't speak Spanish. The proximity of the delightful restaurant Rincon de Rosita, and its always friendly host, is an additional benefit, and serves v good breakfasts. There is an roof terrace with good views also. While we were there this time, there was a breakdown of the hot water supply, but the staff immediately offered us transfers to luxury apartments in the centre, or alternatively access to showers in v nearby apartments. And I think the real test of a great hotel is how they handle things when something goes wrong, and they were brilliant on this occasion.
