The establishment is just as you'd expect from the photos posted, with tasteful, sophisticated, individualized room decor. It's a far cry from the cold, impersonal chain hotels. The building and rooms are a perfect combination of authenticity and modernity. The staff are charming, attentive, caring and hyper-responsive. Perfect check-in and check-out. Great location, good soundproofing, very good bedding; however, I deplore the 2 single beds for a couple. Reasons for the 3 out of 5 rating: you get the impression that a lot of attention has been paid to the aesthetics of the rooms (which we loved), but there's a real lack of storage space, which is almost non-existent; this is still acceptable for our 2 nights, but I won't be coming back for a longer stay, and therefore with more belongings. Another black mark is the breakfast: it's taken in the bakery lounge on the first floor. While the RM Guesthouse is intended to be a cocoon, the bakery room is certainly bright and clean, but not up to scratch. What's more, the choices are relatively limited: why not a formula with a choice of hot beverage (and not just coffee), a viennoiserie to choose from (and not just croissants), etc.? In my hotel choices, breakfast is an important element, and as explained, in my opinion it's a long way from what an establishment like the RM Guesthouse should offer.

One of the nicest hotels I have stayed at over many years in Europe. My opinion is not because of a spectacular setting or historic site but a very nice hotel only a short walk to the centre of town and right beside a park. The centre of town was surprising as it was very nice and vibrant. Our room was extremely large, there was a third bed we did no need. Tons of amenities like toothbrush…. Very clean and bright. A good breakfast with lots of choice. They helped store our bike for us. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The hotel is extremely lovely. The staff have been absolutely fabulous. I can’t say enough good things about them. They’re absolute great people. They all go out of their way to please you which is awesome. The surroundings it’s not too bad it’s walkable, but just be aware. However, I will admit I went to the mall had a great time. This is a really nice place and the rooms are fabulous. I definitely recommend this hotel.😎👍

This is a 3-star hotel masquerading as a 4-star hotel. The units that were recently renovated got the landlord special: the doorknobs were falling off the bathroom door, the A/C just didn’t work (the staff insisted it did, but we needed to open the window regardless), and the shower doesn’t have a proper barrier so water gets literally everywhere despite your best efforts. The rooms are tiny giving you no space to get takeout or eat a snack. There are plenty of tables downstairs and poolside but the staff insist you cannot bring outside food even though there is no restaurant using those tables and the tables have no use outside of breakfast. The rooms are expensive for the location and amenities. There is a pool but honestly you don’t come to Portugal to swim in a hotel pool. I’ve stayed at many hotels and I’ve never had a worse experience at a so-called “4-star” hotel. At least with 3 star hotels they’re cheaper and you know what you’re getting. We actually had a better stay at another local hotel last week. A large family suite with powerful air conditioning for far less than this tiny double bed room with a vent that blows oddly humid and slightly cool air.

One of my favorite hotels in one of my favorite beach. Although not new anymore and you can see it, very friendly staff, very good breakfast and very nice and clean rooms. The room with the jacuzzi in the balcony is just a delight

Breathtaking location with magnificent views of the Setubal peninsula. One of the best Pousadas of Portugal. A ”must-stay”. Very professional service and superb service. Great room at moderate price. Excellent breakfast.

Location is wonderful, and so is the whole building and surroundings. But comparing price/quality there is really something missing. We spent 3 nights in weekend High season, but there was no management at all.We had to wait more than 3 hours before we could have our room, although we send a mail to ask for an earlier check in than 16.00. Not possible, we have to waited till 16.15 . We have been in many 5 stars places all over the world, but never had this situation. Thanks to Mr Joao de Sousa we we're calm down. He treated and helped us later with everything, and that made our stay good. Our superior terras room was located perfect, clean and cool, but the decoration is for that price some dated. The bathroom very small and not really comfortable. In the adults pool only three umbrellas, to protect all the guests from the sun. sunbeds we're not very clean, and the pool towels, is really not done, in a 5 star Hotel member of the Leading hotels of the world. The quality of the breakfast was 3 stars, only 2 sorts of unripe fruit, and no fresh bread at all. We have had diner several times, at the fantastic Terras outside, but please put mores covering to protect people for the extreme sunburning. quality of the food was good, specially my fish was perfect prepared, and again I say, the very kind service of Mr Joao, David, and several other members of the restaurant was really touching. They did their job more than fantastic. So overall, the place has so many strong assets, location, building, history, surroundings, but some for us important details we're missing, and the feeling that there was no management to talk with, but the location is Portugal on it's best! This is our third visit to this apartment complex, you get a very warm welcome and the staff all speak English, Rural self-catering with lovely swimming pool and a small pool for the little ones. The apartments are nice and comfortable with pleasant quite surrounds and the restaurant is very pleasant, continental breakfast is included in the price, free Wi-Fi in the restaurant and bar area, a car really is an essential if you want to discover the surrounding area, 55 km from Lisbon and 10 km from Setubal, a taxi from Lisbon Airport around 60 Euros. Excellent base for explore the region, Palmela Castle, Setubal city for shopping and supermarket for all your needs, from Setubal you can get the ferry boat to Troia Peninsula complex and beach, a visit to Lisbon is a most, you can get a train from Lisbon to Sintra or Estoril, a visit to Belem to the famous ”Pastel de Nata” (custard tart) Overall a good place to spend a quit holiday, I recommend the Palmela Apartments. We drove from Newcastle to Plymouth and then Brittany Ferries to Santander(Spain) and from Santander to the Palmela Apartments is a 7 hour drive. I do recommend these apartments.

Good hotel, friendly staff, nice pool & restaurant, in a good location. Quite a way up a steepish hill, but they provide a service to take you up/down if you prefer not to walk it. Breakfast has a good choice of foods. Sesimbra itself is a great seaside town & it’s lovely to walk along the seafront, with a great selection of restaurants & bars to visit.
