Libest Inn Amami

The inside of the building was cleaner than the exterior. The room was well-cleaned and spacious, and a plus point was that it was equipped with a table where two small suitcases could be spread out. A small bathroom can be difficult to use, but this one was spacious and easy to use. I was glad that the shampoo, conditioner, etc. did not taste cheap. I was surprised that the refrigerator was not the usual size found in hotels, but a two-door type for one person. This may be convenient for those staying multiple nights. For breakfast, I chose Western food. The menu was simple, like what you would eat at home, but I was satisfied.

The room was just the right size, not too big, not too small. For breakfast, we could choose between a Japanese set meal or a Western set meal. I chose the Japanese set meal, but the grilled fish was delicious and satisfying. However, for me, who usually eats a big breakfast and skips lunch, the amount was a little small. I was planning to go to Kakeroma Island the next morning, so I left the hotel around 7:30, but when I told them I would return to Oshima around noon, they said I could leave my car in the hotel's parking lot until then. I was grateful. It was convenient as it was only about a 5-minute walk to Koniya Port. Also, for some reason, there was a museum of Amami prehistory behind the hotel lobby, with models of battleships and aircraft carriers on display. The main ships were the 1/700 scale Waterline series, and there was also a fairly large Yamato. I wonder if it was the owner's hobby. Speaking of Amami-ness, there was also a panel explaining the suicide boat Shinyo.
