The hotel is situated about 5 mins from the slopes and he some pretty good views of the mountains. After that I run out of good things. The beds are ok, the rooms are basic but alright. Actually the shower was hot and wet. However, the food is poor. A buffet system works and there was always plenty of food (although I suspect that is because most people chose not to eat in!). Every meal had 3 choices of pasta (plain, sauce and random). A meat served with a veg was also available. This was complimented by a buffet of cold foods. On the face of it, not too bad. But the meat was rarely identifiable, pasta very Al dente. The general buffet food was cold, tasteless and unappealing. It was often left over from previous meals. Or had been left out for a long time. The staff was short with customers as they slipped the food onto a plate. Breakfast was small. One croissant and a choice of a small bowl of cereal, bread left out from the previous night. Reception staff were hard to find. No bell or way to call them. When they were there they were generally helpful. Lifts are slow, stop at every level and also broken down trapping one of us. There was a staff lift which we were not allowed to use. As a result, it took about 15 mins to pop upstairs to get something. The hotel is built on a spiral. An interesting concept, but totally rubbish with a school group (which there were a lot). No staff can monitor more than 4 doors, so food and other things are throw n around. Walking down in a morning would genuinely make me feel dizzy by the bottom. The central fire escape stairs are slightly better. Cleaning did not happen in our room. There was an outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea and lots of people were ill. Can’t prove where it came from, but the hotel’s response was slow and poor. They did use Tacilla to clean with! Food left by school groups was left in corridors for 5 days, vomit in the fire escape was there when we arrived and still they when we left a week later. Rubbish from previous guest was still in my room when we left. The place is tired and uncared for. Fire doors have not been checked this year. The key cards for rooms often had to be reprogrammed. Armchairs in the games room are broken, backs missing from others. The bar operates a strange system where the barman cannot accept money, but instead sends you to reception to pay. As mentioned above, they are rarely there, so you have a barman who cannot serve drinks due to a missing reception staff. Beer also very cloudy!! I am sure I have missed something, but I do not recommend you stay here. If you have a school group, this goes doubly. There is not common meeting area, the kids will hate the food. They spread all the students around the corridor so you have the crazy situation of having a 5 minute walk between different rooms. There is no ski boot room. Instead you have to walk from the hotel to the sister hotel and use theirs. The one good thing is that there are lots of good piz

Great location close to the piste, but that's it. Small rooms, building is tatty and the food is terrible. The evening meal was so bad that we called it quits after trying two days and went out for dinner in the end. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Beds are not comfy either. If you are on a budget and just looking for somewhere to sleep (badly) then this acceptable. If you are looking for a bit more comfort, then pay the extra and head elsewhere.

We went with school and the hotel is full of teenagers and a few teachers. I would not recommend coming as a family. There is no internet so I had to spend about £5 worth of data roaming. The rooms were spacious.

The Hotel Torre is a structure that allowed me and my family to have a week of skiing dictated by adventure. My young children learned to ski, followed by very capable instructors, who know their stuff even with slightly older children, my eldest son was enthusiastic about the experience, as were the little ones, who were strangely inclined to get up early in the morning due to the proximity to the facilities. The rooms were clean and welcoming, as was the staff who were very available to accommodate our requests. Finally, the cuisine allowed everyone to agree, the buffet had a very wide choice and met our expectations.

Old, dirty and run down with small rooms and tiny bathrooms, pillows full of hair, dirty curtains and bedspreads, probably not washed for months and with holes from cigarette butts. From the bathroom a nauseating smell of sewer. The shower slider is broken so you can only take it holding the diffuser in your hand. It was not just one room because I was out for work with several colleagues who were exactly, some for a real one some for another in the same conditions. You enter the restaurant and you notice a strong and unpleasant smell, in line with the dishes they serve and if, within the times indicated for dinner, you arrive at the final part you find very little choice. Intolerances and celiac disease are treated in a not very inclusive way even if anticipated by email well in advance: the answer is the management does not provide for the purchase of specific products therefore we can only keep what one brings independently. 13 spiral floors, the only flat part is that of the rooms therefore it is essential to use the elevator especially when going up and for the upper floors (2 in total.. for two days one was not working.. for hundreds and hundreds of rooms... I have not seen the capacity but it is very, very large) generating traffic and a continuous calling to the floors such that it becomes an odyssey to exit or return to the room and I am not talking about a few minutes (to the dismay of everyone). Once you go up to the room (magnetic card that sometimes opens sometimes not, frequent requests for replacement to me personally twice). I wonder how it is possible that the local administrations and the tourist office allow this structure to continue the activity and it is not a three star ... because it seems instead it is two ... because I personally would not give it even half. I would personally consider it appropriate to start a health investigation because between unpleasant odors and inadequate cleaning it is beyond the limit of decency. Staying in an undignified structure like this does not help to promote tourism in Sestriere: the thing that will remain most impressed in my mind about this place, despite the many beautiful things experienced, is that I strongly advise against anyone staying in this structure.

The rooms are clean, the restaurant service is good, the buffet meals are varied and quality, the hotel is very close to the slopes and the facilities, the ski room service is very convenient, don't expect luxury but an excellent quality/price ratio!! The only flaw is the lack of staff at the reception and the lack of use of one of the elevators!

I just got back from a week's vacation with 2 friends at this hotel and I have to say that we had a great time, we like skiing and so it was ideal to stay here because it's right on the slopes. The rooms are also quite cozy, we booked a triple but they gave us a double and a single at no extra cost. A truly positive experience.

English: In reference to our stay at the Torre Rossa in Sestriere, instead of at the Duchi d'Aosta, as we booked, we report complete dissatisfaction with the stay. Upon our arrival we were assigned a room, perhaps 15 square meters, triple, remodeled with 5 beds, a hole where we couldn't move, only one small closet, a bathroom, which flooded as soon as all 5 of us took a shower, on 20.12.2021 there wasn't even hot water. Terrible restaurant service, very little choice and terrible quality, not even a bottle in the entire room of extra virgin olive oil to season the vegetables; in 3 days, they were able to serve hamburgers and chips 3 times, as a second course, without any alternative, because there was only one second course! For the packed lunch as an alternative to lunch in the hotel, only one sandwich with cooked ham or prosciutto cotto, because there was only that... I could go on, but I think it's enough. Meaning that none of the inconvenience was objectively due to the covid emergency, but rather to a carelessness of Aurum, as was said by an employee, that maintenance had not been done at I Duchi d'Aosta and for this reason it was not possible to open the hotel we had chosen months before, having already stayed there. Friendly staff, except for the guy who was at the reception... we will not return

The hotel boasts its only plus point, its location, everything else is a disaster. The rooms are below the minimum standards. It is absurd that in a tower hotel, only one elevator works. The furnishings are old and dilapidated, the service is non-existent, the reception is practically never manned. The bathrooms in the rooms are very small and without bidets. Dirt and disorder reign everywhere. If I were the manager of this structure, I would be ashamed to propose it to customers.
