Location: The hotel is beautifully situated in the heart of the Namib Desert, near Sossusvlei and Sesriem, offering stunning views and convenient access to local attractions like the dunes and Deadvlei. It's considered a unique oasis in a remote area.

This is a beautifully appointed inn surrounded by desert. The staff is friendly and the food is wonderful. Dinner is a five course meal each course of which was delicious. A sparkling pool invites one to relax at the end of a day of hiking or sightseeing. The rooms are quite lovely some with balconies and the beds are very comfortable. We would certainly stay there again..

Certainly a beautiful hotel where you see the owrk of great architects. Location in the middle of the desert is also fascinating and next to Sossusvlei. Large room with charming mosquito nets. I would invest in improving the shower head which seemed to belong more to a much more modest hotel. Nice swimming pool, great restaurant. Staff very kind and friendly. Certainly overpriced for Namibia. Modest quad tour in the desert; there was very little to see and, again, price was excessive.

Looking like a bizarre stone fort in the desert, but inside it is truly an oasis with swimming pool and hot tub, set in a lovely garden. We stayed in an oasis room for 2 nights, visiting Sossusvlei during the day. There is a sundown fire pit with drinks, and a separate dining room with waterfall. The food is good. The bedrooms have mosquito nets; beds are v comfortable. Wifi is only around the pool or in the main building.

Good stuff: Very friendly and professional staff. The cleaning was excellent. There's enough staff everywhere to help you with drinks or a pool towel and cushion if needed. The room itself was very spacious, although incredibly dark where the coffee station is situated, no privacy for the toilet, and great big massive curtains without enough curtain hooks so half of them just blow all over the room when you want to open the windows. That's it for the good stuff. The food was by far the biggest disappointment. Dinner consists of the worst 5-course meals you can think of. We don't think it's the quality of the chefs. More the thinking behind these terribly planned 5-course meals considering where in the world the lodge is located. They are trying to be fancy and it simply isn't working. We were served raw fish, without being told, on a bed of warm salad. That was one teaspoon which comprised the whole first course. We were served a few spoonfuls of the most boring butternut soup we have ever had. That was the second course. When the local meat was served, either in a pie or as a small steak, that was absolutely excellent. But the portions were tiny and the veggies around it were not seasoned and lacked any creativity or flavour. The coffee served at breakfast and at 3pm each day is just good enough. The coffee in the rooms is fantastic. You get one pouch of coffee grinds per person. But a coffee plunger only big enough to make one coffee at a time. So you must make one coffee, then clean out the plunger, and start brewing the second coffee. Breakfast is also very average with no extra effort made to make breakfast special. Just cold meats and cheese presented amongst damp lettuce and carrots, some spreads and some bread. The water is served with a lot of lemons or cucumber. You can order an omelet with some bacon and sausage ... again, the sausage is awesome. The fridge/freezer in our room was so tiny and over frozen that it was basically useless. The pool is not big enough for more than one person or group of people to use at a time. I'm sure I could think of plenty of other minor issues with our stay there ... but all-in-all this place could be absolutely mind-blowing but in reality it is greatly overpriced and only really worth it if you are doing the hot air balloon in the morning and don't have your own transportation.

Le Mirage is one of the most magical hotels we have been so far worldwide, and close to the unique Dunes of the Sossusvlei. Excellent food and service, spacious rooms with great views. We spent an unforgettable night in a sky room. Highly recommendable!!!

The hotel is beautiful, the room we stayed in was amazing with a nice terrace. Nothing to complain about location and service but I have one thing that I would like to describe. We arrived at the lodge and left the car in front of the entrance. We were told to move it to the car park after lunch and after checking in. Once we had collected the room keys, someone knocked on our door and told us that we had a flat tyre. We hadn't noticed anything. They helped us change the wheel and immediately afterwards we went to the nearby petrol station in Sessriem. They looked at the tyre for two seconds and told us that it couldn't be repaired but had to be replaced, as we had driven on it al lot. The next morning, the car next to ours had a flat tyre. I strongly suspect that someone at the lodge slashed it and that the lodge staff are in cahoots with the Sessriem petrol station.
