We enjoy our Sundays there with the family on their brunch with ocean view and live band. It includes the pool and everybody enjoys. Their Thai massage ladies and the Thai restaurant are also very nice: we visit them regularly. We once spend a night there (our wedding anniversary) in a beautiful room with private pool inside

Spent a wonderful week at the Coco Ocean. Lovely villa, wonderful food, friendly staff we just loved it. A big thank you to Fatou who kept our Villa spotlessly clean and to the evening chef who made a superb balsamic glaze for me. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, they are a credit to the management. We will return…..

This hotel is not as advertised clever old photos possibly & airbrushed ?!?! Very dated dirty not maintained No atmosphere for holiday more corporate Staff nice Breakfast offerings very poor quality & not covered refrigerated properly lots of flies no ac inside The rooms poor dirty no English plug sockets as per norm in Gambia Spa out of stock on items offered Dirty stained rusty pool furniture cabanas etc Pool towel paper thin and worn out ATM out of service cashier at reception cash !!! Bedding very poor & towels in room This hotel needs full refurbishment to warrant the rating

Most things were absolutely fine, restaurants, food etc were all very good. My biggest complaint was regarding theft of perfume from the room by one or more of the staff. Hotel manager dismissed this complaint and said it didn’t happen - it most certainly did. My advice is that if you stay here, lock any perfumes, after shave etcetera in the in room safe. Only keep out what you can afford to lose.

This property was once elegant---but the rooms are very ordinary---more like a 2 star at best. The ambience, pools, setting are great---food is good---service fast and friendly. Internet is horrible. Thinking it is just the country---and if that is the best the country has???

My wife and I are both in our mid seventies and wanted a nice quiet beach holiday over Christmas and New Year. Our local travel agents suggested Coco Ocean so we went with that , travelling via Gambia Experience. We were delivered exactly the holiday we were looking for. It isn't a large hotel with a capacity of about 150 so we got to know and found all of the staff from CEO to Gardners were lovely and I could fill a page with names but everybody greeted us with a genuine smile and a " how you doing?" .We booked the breakfast/evening meal package and thought that choice and quality was exceptional. We had a great Christmas Dinner , and a truly unforgettable New Years Ball. The accommodation was fabulous as it was right by the beach and everything worked just fine. We booked two day trips , one a river cruise with a bit of fishing and swimming which was really restful and a second trip that was a six in one excursion around Gambia which I think is best described as unforgettable but tiring. Looking back on the holiday I only have good thoughts and find that some of the adverse reviews strange . You have to make a judgement based on where you are so that five stars is based on Gambian standards and I felt that they all gave it their very best .

What a wonderful experience and quite frankly the best kept secret in the UK All staff are worth their weight in gold, going above and beyond to assist always with a smile and are genuinely service-led. The hotel is beautifully surrounded by scenic views that only Mother Africa can offer and cannot be imitated. I am so proud to have stayed here and witnessed first hand people with a beauty rich and strong… a heritage that rates second to none. I hope the unique qualities of Coco Ocean will never change just to ‘fit in’ See you next year

We liked the quiet tranquility most of the time though occasionally noisy with officials having parties. The staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. We liked the room with private outside area. We liked the infinity pool. We were surprised that there was a poor selection of fruit available at breakfast but otherwise it was a good spread. We were impressed with our spa experience and felt totally relaxed afterwards. The green taxi drivers’outside were very friendly and reasonable priced too and took us to Sengambia ***** for the evenings for around £4 return. Overall a fantastic relaxed holiday.
