We were rather disappointed with this hotel from various aspects . Firstly the charge of 15€ to bring us to to the hotel having paid 55€ to a taxi from the port - impossible to walk with suitcases at our age (70’s) . The room was lovely and our maid Lili a gem ! Breakfast was the same day in day out and unimpressive. No true dining room - cater for half board customers only . A bit of a Marie Celeste in the evening to be honest. Lifeguard insisted we wore bands ! Sunbeds not monitored so towels left for hours on unoccupied beds . Building itself looks rather run down - needs updating. Private beach is the tiniest ***** of sand - basically sea access .

We had a dream holiday here; the staff was welcoming and professional, from the receptionists to the bar and restaurant staff and cleaning staff. Everyone was very polite and always ready to help. We had a problem with the air conditioning, which stopped working, and got fixed the following day. We were offered a new room in case the engineer could not fix it by the time we returned from the beach. We were not keen to move rooms so the staff managed to replace the air con and clean the room in a matter of hours. We were really impressed. Also, the breakfast staff was wonderful, cheerful and always ready to bring you another coffee. The breakfast itself was basic, and perhaps the cakes and pastries could have been fresher than they were, but we didn't go hungry, and there was something for everyone. The bathroom was outdated and needed some maintenance, but it was clean and cleaned every day, and we didn't come on holiday for the bathroom. The real asset of this hotel is the thermal spa, which has many pools with different water temperatures. A dream! The supervisors bring you fresh towels and look after you to have everything you need. Plus, there are two bar areas and a restaurant, and the menu is good, including the cocktails and drinks. We had a wonderful holiday, and we'll come back. Sant Angelo is the best part of Ischia.

We stayed at the Apollon for three nights during our honeymoon. The hotel was amazing. To arrive at the hotel we traveled from Naples via boat, took a taxi from the port to Saint Angelo and then a golf buggy to the hotel as the roads are too narrow for other vehicles. The food offered on the half board basis is beautiful and incredible value. Breakfast is a huge variety of pastries, fruit, yoghurts, granola, eggs, breads, cheeses, meats, jams, and honey. The evening meal is served in the sister hotel, this is a 4 course a la carte meal, where you order from a different menu each night. The food was the best we have eaten during our stay in Italy. The service was also the best we received. The setting of the restaurant is incredible, it is set in the cliffs along the coast with beautiful views. The thermal pools are stunning and beautifully maintained. All are different temperatures with unique features such as coves and hot tubs. The gentleman who cares for the pools does an fantastic job and is so friendly and helpful. The private beach is lovely and such a peaceful area to sunbathe. The hotel is in a fantastic location, a short walk to the beautiful town of Saint Angelo which is full of shops and restaurants. The spa is excellent, and the sauna is definitely worth a visit. We wish our stay had been longer and would love to return!

Hotel Apollon. Reasons we would not go again: The transportation from Naples airport to the Hotel location via bus and ferry was very chaotic. Communication was very poor. Be aware you have to leave your suitcase unattended whilst waiting for, and on the ferry. When arriving at Ischia you get off the ferry then onto a minibus that drops off holidaymakers at their destinations, and then the Apollon, the last resort. You will get dropped off at a garage and then have to do a hilly 15-minute walk (depending on your mobility) to the Hotel, which you have to find yourself, or you can get a golf buggy, but this is at a cost and they are not very safe, particularly if sat on the back! There was no Tui rep at the Hotel, you leave the rep at the ferry, It would have been hugely helpful at the beginning of the holiday to have someone explain where local amenities are when you are at the Hotel, how to get to certain areas or any other inquiries or concerns you have. There was no communication or information at the Hotel. We saw a rep from another European travel company, just not Tui. We found some rude and unhelpful staff at the Hotel, especially when we arrived (and in the restaurant later on), we had to hang around waiting, after a very long journey to get into our room. Steep access to our room which in some areas was unlit when dark, which resulted in a sprained ankle for my elderly Mother. The night before leaving we had to take our suitcases down steep steps, to the reception and leave them overnight, this meant we had little of our personal belongings and clothing in the morning before setting off on the long journey home, which was very inconvenient. We found out in the morning this was so they could take your suitcase and leave it in a garage overnight, to be picked up by the coach to the ferry in the morning. There was obviously no staff to do this in the morning. The room and view were lovely but that’s all my positives. I have been to mainland Italy numerous times, and even got married in Italy, but would not go there again!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in early October 2023. The hotel is very lovely and located in a peaceful and serene area of San Angelo. The hotel offered wonderful views of the sea and bays from the restaurant terrace and room balconies and marvelous thermal baths that had several levels of pools with beautiful views of the island and the sea. I had a very relaxing, peaceful, pleasant and enjoyable stay at Hotel Apollon. My room was very clean, simple and smelled good. The room was large and had a nice large balcony with a table & 2 chairs. The room had a flat screen TV with channels in several different languages, a blow dryer, and free wi-fi with good reception. The bed was comfortable. The area was peaceful and quiet, so I was able to sleep very well. The breakfast food was good with plenty of options of hot and cold items. Breakfast was provided on the beautiful terrace with lovely views of the sea and the island of Capri. The food at the Miramare restaurant was good and expensive. The restaurant is classy and located on a terrace with wonderful views of the sea and bays. The hotel offered transportation to the restaurant in a golf cart. The roads in the hilltop town are very small so only small types of vehicles can fit on the road. It was worth eating at the Miramare restaurant for one night. There is also a local restaurant called Bar Ristorante Emanuela, next to the hotel that was excellent and not too fancy or expensive and located on a terrace overlooking the sea. To get to the hotel, I took a ferry from Naples to Forio. From Forio, I took bus number Line 1 or the Line CS (circolare sinistra) to the last stop called Cava Grado. From there, I walked a narrow winding road for 15 minutes to reach the hotel. The hotel may offer golf cart rides to transport hotel guests with suitcases. When I searched on google for information on bus routes to get to the hotel, google provided information on bus lines that don’t exist (lines 171 &198). The actual bus lines on the island to use are Line 1 and CS. The staff was professional, polite, friendly, and helpful. The members of the staff appear to enjoy and appreciate the resort and their jobs. The thermal baths were magnificent and included in the cost of the room. There were several different thermal baths/pools with different temperatures. They were all wonderful and made my body feel great. I spent many hours enjoying the thermal pools with views of the sea and mountain. I had a lovely stay here and hope to return one day. I highly recommend this resort.

This resort should come with a health warning as to get anywhere on site you cannot avoid lots of steep steps and pathways. Our accommodation was in a building up an extremely steep hill. The facilities are wonderful and we spent a great deal of time swimming and sunbathing around the thermal pools. However, if the weather turns, and it frequently does, there are absolutely no wet weather alternatives. No indoor lounge areas for residents to sit & watch the thunder and lightning storms! The rooms have been tastefully refurbished and are very comfortable but are a bit short of storage space for a couple on an 11 night stay. There are no coffee/ tea facilities in the room either & We had a de luxe sea view room. We opted for half board which was good value and consisted of 4 course fine dining in the sister hotel Miramare. Excellent quality and very interesting dishes. However, for a lengthy stay it gets very repetitious and we missed having a more simple option.

Stunning resort it felt like a little paradise The thermal pools were amazing and everywhere was very clean. Hotel room was very clean and basic as expected we had a lovely sea view. We only had b+b but the breakfast was true Italian style with cereals and breads, fruits hams and cheese, also bacon and egg and juices and coffee. The area does not have cars so we you have to get around on foot or by electric car and what an experience that was. Hotel staff very friendly they didn't speak much English however they really tried and we felt bad expecting them to understand us as we should learn their language. Sant Angello is a small walk or electric car away and what a gorgeous little area with bars and restaurants and beach sports. Had an amazing time and would describe this as an authentic quirky paradise of its own. We will be back

Nice location but completely disorganized the property is very old not well maintained, what you see on the photos are far away from the reality. Located at the sea you expect the seafood to be fresh instead is frozen and not at a cheap price. I booked sea view room and at the time of check in I got terrible one still waiting at the bar for a change ! Please don’t go if you have other choices.

Partly renovated hotel in a good location, good thermal pools. Otherwise just a disaster, the worst service I ever experienced, you will have to beg for your breakfast. No room service. It’s like they want to tell you - don’t come back here! So unwelcoming, we didn’t even try to eat lunch or dinner. Sun beds at the beach are blocked from early morning. The only nice people here are Francesco at the pool and Roman at the beach, but unfortunately they cannot make it for the rest. AVOID this place! Not worth the money!
