HARRY is a just newly renovated house that is a traditional beach house with a modern and updated interior. It was a "Paddy Harrington" house originally and still has its quirky style but now has all modern conveniences and clean fresh furniture. Original artworks enhance the walls and fresh crisp commercial linen and towels are supplied for each stay from South Pacific Laundry The best feature are the views from the main rooms and the two decks looking over the Separation creek beach. There are lots of parrots and galahs and kookaburras who come to visit and the whole area has a relaxed and quiet ambience. Behind the house is a leafy bush outlook set in a lovely garden . You can lie in bed in the main bedroom and see the waves. There are great views from the elevated front deck but at the same time there is easy flat access from the other side with no flights of steps to climb. There is a second deck at the side of the house near the BBQ and this also has sweeping unrivalled views of the coast as well as a garden outlook in the reverse direction. There are full veggie and herb boxes growing next to the deck and guests are able to pick these to enhance their cooking. The kitchen is well equipped and staples are provided for guests to use. There is a lovely warming log master type fire set in the living room that provides a cosy ambience on those cold winter evenings. Wood is provided too. If you are lucky you might see harry (or harriet) the koala who has regularly been spotted in the garden or nearby trees Harry is pet friendly for well behaved pets ( not on the bed please) You can walk to the beach from the house ( about 300 metres) and also walk along Paddy's path to the Wye river store for scrumptious bread and home baked croissantsThe Wye River and Separation creek township has the amenities of a great store and café and also the pub for meals on the deck there in summer or around the fire in winter. It is surrounded by forest rich in birds. The Great Ocean Road is a perfect place to explore - see Koalas at Kennett River and glow worms at Grey river reserve. The 12 Apostles are 90 minutes away and Lorne and Apollo bay are 15-20 minutes away for a taste of the Big smoke Unlike many houses in Wye River and Separation Creek there is plenty of flat parking on the level ground behind the house and there are no steps into the house - only the door lintel. This great when carrying in your things no great flights of stairs to lug in the shopping! The whole house has been renovated with polished floors in main rooms and now has three bedrooms - one main with king bed, one room with 3 single bunks and a double bed bunk, and a third bedroom with a queen bed - this room has a lovely bush view. The house can sleep 9 if all beds ( 6 adult limit please) are in use. There are built in wardrobes in every room. There are panel heaters in every room and also an air conditioner in the living room which can cool two of the bedrooms as well. . The living room has a sound system that takes cds plus ipod docking station for your music. Foxtel is there if you need it!.There is a new kitchen with dishwasher, electric oven, microwave and induction cooktop, and a separate euro laundry with a spare fridge. The windows are mostly double glazed for comfort too.The bathroom has a large tiled shower, new vanity and a WC ( we have tank water like the whole area )Enjoy a BBQ on either deck with a cool glass of wine after a day at the beachHarry is perfect for a relaxed holiday - a family holiday, or a romantic getaway for two, or for two couples holidaying together. The room set up means that two couples with each 2 children can also be accommodated. The pricing for HARRY is shown on each day you are looking at: There is a linen/cleaning fee of $125 per stay additional I keep the calendar up to date and the seasonal prices are also marked on the calendar that STAYZ produces There is no step into the house so it is almost wheelchair accessible with some assistance ( just the lintel at the door). If you have got any queries just email me through Stayz. I have been staying at Wye River and Separation Creek in many different houses for 30 years and now I am happy to share my house with others. I know you will enjoy your stay here at HARRY!!Here are some reviews from other websites - and check out my reviews here on Stayz/Homeaway as well. " we relaxed here and enjoyed the whole Wye River/Separation Creek experience" - Don and family"Lovely place very comfortable, clean and stylish " -Pammy"The entire experience was magnificent. Denise was very helpful in every way including providing information about the house, responding to my messages promptly and also in answering my calls for any questions I had asked her regarding the stay. The house was very clean and neat with everything available in abundance. The highlight of the stay would have been the view from the living room of the sea and also to waking up to the sound of the ocean in the morning. The entire family enjoyed the holiday as the weather was also exceptionally good. We also had a marsupial visit on the day we were leaving, a local Koala was right on top of our house to bid us farewell. " Vinod"We found the Harry House lovely, beautiful ocean views. Parrots on deck each afternoon Rosella, Cocky and King Parrots. Close to beach , but also a good feeling of isolation , away from the world." "Excellent location for a stop by along the ocean road, 15 minutes drive to Apollo bay, quiet little property located at the foot of mountain and facing the sea, with fantastic ocean view and interesting rock and sand beach
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room of bay view is spacious with a small sitting room and all necessary utensils
People just need to bring necessary food and drink to cook for themselves as there is a bit distance from the town center
A little advice though: please provide air-conditioner for the accommodations as it’s pretty hot in summer in the room. It’s not comfortable and the guest cannot sleep well in the summer heat"
"Facing the bay, it is the best hotel nearby. The price is a bit expensive, and there are many parrots on the balcony. There are also many places to eat near the hotel, but I feel that there seems to be nothing to do in this place. It is more appropriate to stay in Apollo Bay. I have never stayed there, so it is difficult to compare and evaluate. Lorne locals strongly recommend this hotel"
"We felt well here. The location is great, you can look directly at the beach and the sea. The room was clean. It is old-fashioned, but functionally well equipped. The lady at the reception was super friendly. We would stay here again."
"We recently stayed at the Lorne Mantra as a group of four adults with a child, and it was a truly comfortable and enjoyable experience. The location is ideal—just a short stroll to the beach and conveniently close to local shops. The facilities are excellent, with a lovely swimming pool, well-maintained tennis court, and a kids room that kept our little one happily entertained. The accommodation suited our needs perfectly and provided a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for the whole group. Highly recommended for families or groups looking for a great coastal getaway."
"Late guests, pay attention to keep email or Australian mobile phone number, otherwise you will not receive the password to open the box to pick up the key"
"Quiet, accommodation on the Great Ocean Road, just park your car downstairs, the room is independent, well-equipped, clean and tidy, the big bed is comfortable, self-service return, it is very convenient on the roadside"
"Feelings: The hotel is in the forest 5 minutes drive from the town of Lorne. We saw wild kangaroos, cockatoos and eagle here. In terms of safety, the hotel has more than a dozen independent houses, and the popularity is high. The old couple of the hotel owner live in the house in the center of the hotel, so the friends in the city quickly bring the children to feel it. The wild kangaroo looked great and powerful, and the zoo was much better."
"The room was very good, but too quiet at night, probably because it was the off-season. I initially thought that we were the only family staying at the hotel. I was a little scared when I couldn't see anyone smoking at the door at night. I didn't know until the next day that there were other guests nearby. I saw wild kangaroos, but the entrance was hard to find. I initially thought I had taken the wrong road. It was really wild."
