The hotel's location is excellent. The hotel lobby connects to a shopping mall, eating food court and Subway station. It’s about a 10-minute walk to MyeongDong Street and Namdaemun Market. The attached underground shopping area has small shops and a pharmacy. The hotel room was very clean and room service was efficient. Water and bath amenities were replenished daily. Staff were very friendly and professional. Stayed in the Executive Tower that is located to the left of the main lobby. Upon arrival, staff escorted us to a sit-down check in area. There were always hotel staff standing in the lobby ready to assist. We did not encounter any rude staff as a reviewer mentioned but had only very helpful staff that appeared eager to assist and enjoyed our attempts to speak broken English and Korean “Konglish” with them. Only one caution as the lobby has no seating area, thus be prepared to stand while checking into the hotel if you are not booked in the Executive Tower. Looking forward to another stay.

Disappointing stay. My fourth stay with the property and we were looking forward to a nice summer break in Seoul. Stayed 5 nights in the executive tower wing, executive premier double room with paid access to the La Cime lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour cocktails and food service. Staff at La Cime were rude. Not trained at all. Some examples: They routinely clear the plates from the table by first stacking the dirty plates AT the table BEFORE clearing. I mean I’m hardly dining at a pojangmacha. This is a white table cloth club lounge. On several days, we stayed through afternoon tea and into happy hour to read and take video calls at the lounge. The La Cime staff would come up to us and asked “ You pay for happy hour?”. I can understand guests may opt for either and pay accordingly but frankly it’s atrocious and rude to ask this after the third day. It’s hardly busy. You could just check my room number and know I’ve paid for the full package instead of accosting me at the table every time. Just bad form for Lotte. Also we had to request to change rooms because the first room they assigned us was just two floors up directly above the industrial size chillers that are noisy. Quite surprising because we paid >$1000 a room. The second room was only slightly better -maybe 5 floors up from the chillers. We were too tired from the flight to argue. Tip: always check if the rooms are above the chillers.. anywhere above 23 floor is safe. Even better is a room facing the other view. Some redeeming qualities include a great location, very decent fitness center and a nice old fashioned lobby bar with live music. I always try to find a star employee and the one on this visit is the Breakfast chef at La Cime. She’s a great listener and super efficient and speaks immaculate English.
Lotte Hotel World Gangnam

I visit Seoul yearly and Lotte Hotel World is one of best I've stayed so far. Location: Great for cherry blossoms scenery with Lake View rooms and we managed to catch beautiful sunrise too. Although not near most tourist attractions, it's located above 2 subway stations & linked to Lotte malls. Customer Service: Excellent customer service. Kudos to Front Desk Mr Duke Lee & Ms Hwang Yoonkyoung for being so patient and accomdating with my many requests as I was travelling with family of 13. I really appreciate the attentiveness of Mr Duke as he would approach me when he saw me walking towards the front desk to assist me and even asked how were the day trips we went for. I would also like to thank Ms Sharon Kim from Room Reservations for being so helpful and patient too! Room: Well maintained & no complaints. Multi usb points means we don't have to fight to charge devices. Amenities like shampoo, conditioner and body wash smell nice! Only downside was toothbrush was chargable which we didn't expect. But it is part of the hotel's sustainability movement hence we respect that. We also had a room which was the Junior Suite. Spacious room with living room and dining area with basic kitchen. If utensils are provided, it would have been even more convenient as we bought some food back. Breakfast: One of the widest selection I have seen. Pastry selection is good and the croissants were hot favourite of the family. The service team is also attentive and prompt. We were always greeted with warm welcome and smiles. Overall: Thank you for making my family feel welcomed and we enjoyed our stay very much!
