Hanok Hotel Daam

I thought I had booked a private solo room with shared bathroom but it was actually a kind of hanok-style capsule (with much more space than the capsules we know). I still really enjoyed my stay in this hotel which is very very well located and I plan to stay there again during my next trip to Korea.

The interior design, with its modern traditional Korean style, was lovely☺️ It was clean and provided all the basic amenities, such as toothbrushes, gowns, and drinking water. The staff seemed a little unmotivated, though... The breakfast was also delicious. The area is also fun to explore, with the palace, Ikseon-dong, Insadong, and the currently popular Seosun-la all nearby. The airport bus stop was also nearby, which was nice.

When I booked, I knew it would be a bit troublesome because there was no complete privacy, but I still booked it because it was a newly opened Hanok hotel and I thought it was interesting. Sure enough, there were still many troublesome places to stay. If you choose a triple room with a private bathroom, the price is very high, you can definitely stay in a star hotel. The mattress is quite comfortable. I like the wooden house very much. The breakfast is OK. The service of the front desk staff is also ok. The attitude of the staff at check-out was very good, and there was a demeanor of the staff of a four- or five-star hotel.

I traveled alone in Korea this time. I booked this hotel similar to a youth hostel in order to save costs. I first saw it on bxxking, and when I came to Ctrip, I saw that it was cheaper, so I booked it on Ctrip. I arrived in Korea on an early flight that day and took a bus to the hotel (very close to Changdeokgung Station for Bus 6011). After arriving, because the room was not ready, I stored my luggage and went to Samcheongdong for a walk. I returned to the hotel at around 2pm and was told that the room was not ready yet (I understand this because I had noted that I wanted a room with a window, and after observing for a few days, they didn't have many deluxe single rooms with windows). So I waited in the lobby for a while, and the front desk also helped me open the room card in advance. About 20 minutes later, I was told that I could go upstairs. Because I was not familiar with the hotel password box, I got the password wrong. The handsome guy at the front desk patiently helped me deal with this problem. I am really grateful. (Sorry, I forgot to see the handsome guy's name) Hygiene: The hygiene is good, at least in the top three of the youth hostels I have stayed in. The aunt cleans the public area every day, and the place where I live provides towels every day, but the bedding and bathrobes are not replaced. Facilities: The facilities are very new, and there are all the necessary hair dryers and washing machines. To wash clothes, you have to go to the front desk to buy laundry beads, 5,000 won each (equivalent to 25 RMB per wash) The hotel is in a good location, close to Jongno Sanga (a lot of delicious food), Samcheongdong and Insadong are all good.
