Myeong-dong
I stayed here for the first time because I thought it was in a good location in Myeongdong. It was a very clean and comfortable hotel. The only thing I didn't quite understand was how to use the air conditioner and TV. No matter how much I turned the air conditioner down to the cold setting, it would quickly rise to over 28 degrees and get very hot. I couldn't watch the TV no matter what I pressed on the remote, so maybe I just don't know enough. I had no choice but to watch YouTube. I also used the bagel shop on the first floor and had a very delicious breakfast. Overall, I would like to stay here again.
Seoul Garden Hotel

The hotel is located in a convenient area between Gongdeok and Mapo stations. Behind the hotel there are many eateries and pubs. I usually choose this hotel when I visit because of all the hotels in the area, this typically is always at a favorable price point comparably.

Everything is great, except if you visit Korea during October. The hotel will turn off the AC system, and you have to open windows during night. You will hear a bit noise from the street, otherwise wonderful hotel.
Hotel Cappuccino

Gangnam
I really wanted to enjoy Hotel Cappuccino, they have a great location, accessible to pets, and a hip interior. But my 6day stay at this place was ruined one afternoon when I brought back my lunch to my room but couldn’t eat in my room because it was being cleaned. No big deal, I went to the downstairs cafe and started eating there, but the staff kicked me out because it was for guests who wanted to eat at the cafe. Honestly, there were plenty of tables and it’s not like I was taking away business but they fiercely insisted that it was bad for their cafe business. I asked the front desk if there was a communal kitchen or any space for guests to simply enjoy a meal but they apologized for not having this, and encouraged me to wait 30mins until housekeeping was done with my room. Would I recommend this to any tourist? Only if you’re ok with small spaces and mediocre customer service. Also, their bidets provide enemas! Woohoo!

Good Location, Friendly Staff, Room Needs Improvement The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The staff were friendly and helpful, with good English communication skills. They were also accommodating to my specific room requests. The room itself was nicely appointed, but unfortunately, the room temperature was too warm, fixed at 27 degrees Celsius with no option to adjust the heater. This made for an uncomfortable stay, especially at night. Additionally, the bathroom layout, while suitable for solo travelers, would likely be inconvenient for couples due to the lack of a separate door for the toilet area. There's no bidet, which was a bit disappointing. I think the hotel would benefit from upgrading to automated toilets for a more modern and convenient experience.
ibis Ambassador Seoul Insadong

Insadong / Bukchon
hotel is located up an alley but the best part is that its just beside ikeon dong where you can find authentic korea jiggae. solsot is also less than a min walk. its far from anguk station where the airport shuttle bus is. at night its dark on the street. hot bath at basement and washer (4000 won), dryer (4000 won) and detergent (1000 won) are fabulous, but note that note changing machine only dispense 500 wons instead of notes and coins. so go to reception counter to change bigger notes to 10,000 won so you dont end up with tons of 500 wons. water purifier located at level 10 and you need to ask, else counter staff wont tell you. save your shopping spree to Hongdae as Ikeon dong jewelry is 3x more expensive than Hongdae. didn't need to eat buffet at hotel because there's authentic korean soup stuffs at insadong (10min walk) which are open as early as 730am. wont recommend solo female traveller due to the dark alley and drinking street on a Fri night along the alley. multiple exit at the station with no elevator access and difficult to find hotel location if you exit wrongly. if you need washer and dryer, then this hotel is highly recommended. staff allow free early check in if i join accor free membership on the spot, i appreciate the early check in service. shower area very small.
