There are numerous resort hotels on Jeju Island. Compared with traditional seaside resort hotels, the Porto Hotel (also known as the Grape Hotel) to be introduced here is quite unfamiliar, isn't it? The hotel was designed by the famous Korean-Japanese architect Jun Itami. The hotel is located in the central mountainous area of Jeju Island, at the southwestern foot of Halla Mountain, and has a good geographical location. The designer designed the building shaped like grapes with a unique aesthetic vision, giving full play to the traditional Korean aesthetic space. The decoration inside the hotel is very high-end, with hard volcanic rock flooring, boldly using large blocks of contrasting colors such as red, cyan, and black, and uniquely designed installation sculptures. The hotel is close to many popular tourist attractions, including Camellia Forest, Porto Museum, and Bentai Museum. The hotel has only 26 rooms divided into Korean and Western luxury suites. Each room has a unique view, only to provide the best and considerate service for you. Each room in the hotel provides natural hot springs and floor heating, so you can experience the top feeling even in the cold winter; The hotel's fried shrimp udon noodles are very famous.

The room is huge, clean and has everything you will need. You can ask for a steamer from the housekeeping if you need to steam your clothes. The location is away from everything but very beautiful and quiet. The hotel does not have anyone to help us with the luggage upon checking in and checking out which is weird for a big hotel like this so if you have big luggage you might have to manage it yourself. Onsen is separated male and female and is beautiful but closed early like 8 pm if I'm not wrong wished it was open till much later like 10 pm or 9.30pm at least.

The hotel location, facilities, and outdoor landscaping are fantastic. The breakfast buffet was high quality (with a high price to match); The rooms are comfortable though nothing to rave about. Two areas for improvement: 1. The hotel service is not catered towards foreigners; The front desk and kids island staff, as well as information pamphlet are limited mainly to Korea. The check in counter knew I had two young children with me, but did not mention that we had to pre-book / reserve activities with the kids island. By the time I found out, everything was full and my children could not participate in anything. 2. The hotel pool has a safety policy where children under 1.3M need an adult to accompany them, and if under 1.2M need to wear a life vest. This doesn't make sense for parents (to accompany them) or children who can already swim.
