IBB Hotel Palazzo Bettina Malta

If you would like to immerse yourself in Malta's beautiful sights and history then this is the place for you. The hotel is located next to the church of St. Lawrence in Vittoriosa (Birgu) with beautiful views of Senglea (Isla) and a short walk from Cospicua (Bormla). The ferry terminal to Valletta is a few meters away and there are many excellent restaurants and cafes to chose from in the surrounding area. Breakfast at the hotel is not to be missed.

Chose this hotel as the reviews were already fantastic - and I can only add to them! Absolutely everything was spot on here - from the minute we walked in the door! The decor is stunning and we really felt like we were staying in a palazzo steeped in history. Our room had a little balcony with a lovely view, and a vaulted stone ceiling. Renovated to perfection with lots of little alcoves and touches that help you remember the history of the place. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and the breakfast cooked to order was a daily treat. The rooftop area is simply stunning. We were staying in December for a week but still managed to get a lot of use out of it. The pool isn't heated but was nice for a bracing dip before sinking in to the hot tub - which was gorgeous of an evening to see the lights and listen to the church bells. The location is also great - the ferry stop to Valetta is just a very short walk along the harbour and there are restaurants along the front and in the square behind if you want to stay local. Oh. And the best Gelato shop in Malta is just next door and open all hours.... Honestly - did I dream up this hotel?

What an amazing hotel!!!! From start to finish we were made to feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay a real treat. Highly recommend this place to everyone. Our room was very special with amazing views looking over the harbour and fantastic sunsets.

If you are looking for a hotel with style, charm & amazing staff.....this is it! My wife & I have just got back from a 5 night stay & WOW, this boutique hotel made the holiday extra special. The room was excellent, the rooftop pool area outstanding, such a benefit after a few hours sightseeing around Valetta & beyond. I could go on for ages but would like to give a special mention about Roman, on reception, who couldn't be more helpful & Roma, housekeeping, who made you feel like you were the only guests she had to deal with. All the staff were very attentive & are a credit to this hotel. We often say, "we will go back there" & probably never do.......but this one...😍

We stayed 8 nights at this hidden gem. It is a beautiful small luxury hotel in a restored historic house with superb service and attention to detail from Max and Alberto. We stayed in a quiet deluxe room on the second floor which was large and had a balcony overlooking the internal courtyard. Bed was large and comfortable and the room spotless. Breakfasts were made to order with a wide range of options and good quality. The rooftop pool and sitting areas were much welcomed in the summer heat and well maintained. The harbour views were amazing and the Birgu neighbourhood is full of history to explore. Hotel is close to the ferry to Valletta and there is plenty of dining options in the 3 Cities. Overall we had a fantastic time and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

The hotel is situated in an old Palazzo, beautiful! The location is excellent, away from the busy streets of Valetta, in the quiet port of Birgu. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, but lots of choice just outside the hotel. Taking the local boats to Valetta is fun, the ferry is also close by. Staff is very nice, especially Roma (housekeeping). The rooms are nice, too bad we didn’t have harbour view. The rooftop terrace is very nice, the pool and hot tub are great!
