Best Hotels near Coastal Drive 59, Semaphore

The property is conveniently located on the North Terrace among the campus of University of South Australia. Hotel parking was limited but it was not a problem of us as we were mostly out early in the morning for sightseeing and only back after dinner. Hence we parked our car along Liverpool St which offered free overnight parking. The Oval, Railway Station and Rundle Mall are all a few minutes walk away. We were given a corner room on the 2nd floor which was HUGE. The room was slightly dated but it was clean and functional.

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this year by visiting Adelaide. Stamford Plaza was our main base as we travelled throughout the region experiencing all of the arts, culture, history, Architecture, food and wine of the region. Our stay at Stamford Plaza was pleasant and clean with all the amenities needed in a central location. To raise the bar though it was the service we received at Stamford Plaza from Jacqui aka Jax that made it extra special. From her warm welcome, recommended attractions and hot spots to the extra special touches including bottle of wine to help us celebrate. Our memories of our stay in Adelaide were greatly enhanced due to Jax and the Stamford Hotel. Thank you!

The hotel seems to have just been opened two years ago, and the decoration is very new and modern. The sound insulation is not very good, people passing by the door can be heard very clearly. I didn't have time to experience the swimming pool and gym, so I don't know how it was. The service at the front desk is very friendly. Overall, the price/performance ratio is the best choice.

On the positive side, the hotel is clean and breakfast was good. The rooms are quite dated and could definitely do with a refresh. Unfortunately I was in a room over Main Street near an intersection. The noise from the pedestrian lights was audible all night, as was pub noises and noises from the other rooms. The room was spacious, but as mentioned the decor was quite dated. Overall, it’s fine as a place to crash for the night, but I wouldn’t stay again unless they improved the soundproofing!

The hotel is clean and quiet. It is a rare garden-style low-density apartment complex with a garden. There are large city parks around and the environment is good. There is a kitchen in the room where you can cook your own food. The living room and dining room are also spacious and suitable for families with children. The only thing that is lacking is that there are no supermarkets, convenience stores, etc., and it is not convenient when you need to buy things temporarily. Overall worth recommending, cost-effective.

Really clean and modern apartment with two good size bedrooms. The kitchen has an oven, dishwasher and all the electrical and cutlery you need. Perfect for families who may not always want to eat out all the time. Friendly staff. Woolworths is a 5-10 mins walk away. There is also Jenny’s bakery 15 mins walk along Glen Osmond Road towards the city who serves a great coffee and amazing pastries baked onsite! It’s only a 5-10 mins drive into Adelaide. Only feedback I have is the Block C 102 ground floor apartment we were appointed to could get very noisy with all the door slamming of people going in and out of the building. It can be really loud when you are sleeping since the apartment is right next to the foyer doors. Will consider staying again when we next visit Adelaide.

Heritage hotel nicely refurbished. Checkin experience could have been smoother with processes, but eventually on track. Staff good everywhere we went. Comfy King Coil bed. Very clean throughout. New bathroom. New TV with Netflix. Studio-sized living space, and spacious in bathroom. Stairs up to rooms - a bit challenging with luggage. Signage in welcome lounge referring to a fridge needs check for customer impression. Wifi helped plan our day. Nice touches with bathroom products and soft white towels. Decent instant coffee and tea. Secure room key entry. Key coded from street level. Overall, very good and recommended. Close to 5 stars. Great location near coast and shopping.

March 2024 Here is a list of issues you may have to deal with: 1. Lights are weirdly wired. You can’t turn on the bathroom lights without having the rest of the lights on. This is problematic when one is sharing the apartment and one needs to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. Other guests staying at the apartments had the same issue. 2. It is stated that the apartment has Netflix but it does not work. When I mentioned it to the marketing girl she said she would have it looked at but no one came to the apartment to repair the problem. Again, other guests staying in the apartments had the same issue. 3. When we arrived on the 13th, there was only one tea bag instead of 2. I was sharing the room with my husband, that is not thoughtful, obviously we would have needed 2 teabags. 4. We stayed 5 nights and only had the room serviced once. I had left the tag to service the room but it was only done once. 5. On the Saturday our room was finally serviced but they did not replenish the toilet paper and we were left with none which meant we had to purchase toilet paper as there was no one in reception. If conveniences and service isn't important to you then by all means stay here. The apartments are just off the main road that have lots of great cafes and restaurants. The apartments are brand new, fresh, clean and modern. The staff are helpful and listen to concerns you may have. Read less Tip: An apt description for this place is Location, Location, Location. The apartment was excellent with quality beds and fully equipped kitchen. This is the 3rd time we have stayed with Quest Port Adelaide! We will be back again soon. We travel from interstate to visit our children and grandchildren. We had a great time.
