While this is a cute hotel it’s very expensive for what you get. The rooms are teeny - teeny tiny. The towels are not in the bathroom so when you get out of the shower you suddenly realize that you need to walk into the room to get a towel. They don’t have shampoo and conditioner or lotion - just a small circle of soap labeled that it’s multipurpose. The room smelled - it seems they pump a scent into the room and it was not a pleasant one. The room also smelled like smoke the entire trip due to the people next door smoking in their room. The bar is very cute but the dinner menu was akin to school lunch. More like someone heats up food as opposed to a chef. My shrimp came out cold inside and the pasta sauce was basic. My husband broke his leg skiing and had to get emergency surgery at the Dolomite Sport Clinic. When we got back to the hotel we asked for a chair to put in the shower because they did not have accessible rooms and he was unable to bear weight on one leg. They said they would give us a patio chair that could get wet and we waited but they never brought anything so my husband had to lay in the shower floor to get clean. The breakfast buffet was a nightmare; too many people and not enough food. When I tried to bring my husband breakfast in the room due to his leg and the recent surgery they refused to allow me to bring plates to the room so I had to pile food into napkins. There are rules and there is common sense. This is more of a hostel than a hotel.

The hotel is not in the main town of Santa Christina. It is thankfully just off the main Val Gardena road, which is so busy you almost want to call it a highway. Matt was very nice and informative and helpful. The restaurant staff were lovely. Breakfast is very good and the restaurant food is very good. The rooms are TINY! And only one pillow per person and they are so tiny . Also the bath towels feel threadbare! We were in a so-called triple room, but it's actually a TINY double room with a third bed shoved in. Considering the fact that you ski there, there is one TINY cupboard for 3 occupants with winter clothing! The bathroom has a tiny glass ledge for three people to share! Also, there is no tea and coffee making facilities in the room as there is no space. Our room had no view. We looked into a wall. Wifi was not great. You have to pay E5 to wash your laundry and another E5 to use the tumble drier. To get to the laundry room, you have to walk outside in the snow! Then walk through the smelly ski boot room!

Access to the Val Gardena area only by bus (hourly/half hourly), no train. Guests who stay at the hotels in this area are given free bus pass to travel within South Tyrol. Pros - Well lit hotel, jst opposite arrival bus stop, can't miss. - very clean sheets and towels - room is very new. Layout of compact room is excellently designed with lots of space to use to put things. - Room is warm, toilet is warm. I did not even need to switch on heater at night with outside -10°. - staff is friendly - breakfast has a variety - bus stops nearby, so convenient - housekeeping everyday, soap for shower and shampoo (free, as opposed to what I read in reviews. Con - flat pillows - beds a little sunken - no kettle to make hot water, much needed during winter - bar soap as shampoo a little difficult to use to wash hair - does not provide drinking water bottles, however, tap water is potable.

Nice stay. Highly recommend the efficiency and modern accommodations. Breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip. Staff was great! Free underground parking a huge plus.

We loved our stay here. Our room was spacious and cool. Large bathroom with walk-in shower. The breakfast was nice with lots of choice, both sweet and savory. We parked in front of the hotel but there is also a garage. We had both dinners here which were good. Two things we did not like so much. The location. When I booked I had not noticed the hotel is not in the center. You either have to walk about 20 minutes or take the bus. The bus stops around 21 in the evening so too early for dinner. The choice in wine. They only have 1 red and 1 white wine in the bar, restaurant.

Great breakfast. Great service. Ok room. Close to ski bus. Good restaurant and friendly personnel. We had 3 fine days in marvellous surroundings and fantastisk skiing. The hotel seems new and everything was clean and in good condition. Recommended.

Booked hotel in July 2022. Apparently they had a data breech (unreported) and now I get spam in my what’s app account trying to scam me. Worse, the hotel repeatedly asked me to cancel my reservation, claiming that they were closed for the season during my reservation period. If in fact, they were closed, they should have never rented the room in the first place. Additionally, if they were closed, they should have canceled the reservation, but they repeatedly asked me to do it on what’s app rather than communicating with me through official channels. Now, there are no rooms in the city! I booked in July, but they canceled one month out from my stay. I could have found alternative accommodations back in July if they had been honest about being closed in April.

We were on a week's ski holiday in an apartment from Saturday to Saturday, but had a Sunday flight home, so needed somewhere to stay for an extra night. The Smart Hotel was the ideal solution as they offered an early check in for a small extra fee, so we were able to drop our luggage in the room at 8.30 am and head off to the slopes. The hotel really is Smart: the room was spacious with quality fittings and fixtures; the ski room was state of the art and the best we've ever experienced. We chose to have an aperitif in the bar and eat in the restaurant in the evening; the service was excellent and we enjoyed a relaxing evening with top quality food: the Blue steak for two (800g) was amazing - melt in the mouth! Starters were also delicious and we were given a complimentary fried sardine and salad appetiser. Fantastic way to end the holiday. A ski bus stop is opposite the hotel, so very practical too.
