Philipburn Hotel, BW Signature Collection

We recently celebrated our wedding at the Philipburn Hotel, on 7th September. Adrian, Graham and Lesley certainly went above and beyond on the day to make it a great experience for all who attended. The wedding ceremony took place in the gardens of the hotel, followed by the reception in the Linglie Suite. The wedding meal was absolutely amazing, with all guests commenting on how good the meal was. The whole day was perfect. We could not have asked for better and cannot thank them enough. Our only issues we encountered was the run up to the wedding when we were informed that we needed to find a hairdresser and a photographer which was part of the package. This was a stressful situation for us both as we had paid for an all inclusive wedding and did not expect to be involved in doing their job for them and getting involved in this way. However, it wasn’t something that couldn’t be resolved and went smoothly in the end. A big thank you to Hetties of Melrose for stepping in at the last moment and a huge thank you to Ali Graham for being such an amazing photographer, both hairdresser and photographer went above and beyond what we asked for.

Visited again, 19 years after hosting our wedding reception. The Philipburn is still a lovely hotel, lots of charm and atmosphere and a great location. We were looked after brilliantly by Adrian, the new owner / operator, a real gentleman! Already looking forward to our next visit.

Had a very mixed experience at Philipburn. Hotel was comfortable, (stayed in lodge room 16), and the one breakfast I had was good. I stayed as part of a large group and on the first night of two night's stay, two of my party were involved in a heated argument with the hotel manager over plates & cutlery being used for a takeaway. The hotel over-reacted and acted in an unprofessional manner over a misunderstanding. Shouting at guests is simply not acceptable. This event soured both my stay and the stay of everyone in the group. So much so that we felt no option but to cancel the dinner we were due to have at the hotel the following night, (and losing the deposit already paid). Comfortable hotel but in our case, a terrible attitude from the manager.

Keith and I have enjoyed our stay at the Philipburn hotel. Adrian and Graham , the owner's, made us very welcome and made sure our stay was perfect. All the staff are very helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to help with our menu choices. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, we are looking forward to our next stay

Had a fantastic stay at the Philipburn Hotel in the Scottish borders region. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home as several of us visited the area as part of an annual road trip that we undertake. There was ample safe and secure car parking on site to accommodate the group. The evening meal was absolutely delicious, and the breakfast was the perfect way to start our day. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!"

Had 3 nights at the Philipburn and can recommend the accommodation and the service. The room was comfortable and clean with everything we needed. The hotel itself was well decorated and in a lovely position. Many thanks to all the staff and management who made our stay so enjoyable. Visit the Lochcarron Woollen Mill just on the left in the industrial estate over the bridge into Selkirk. The Halliwell's House Museum is also not to be missed with the car park next to it free.
